Visual clown? And % of Het?

I think it depends on the quality. Im not a fan of jumping to something cause its the cool thing. It should be something you want and how old/size.

Do you have pics of the bps? Quality is everything. I'm not sure on prices of gtps really though.

Correct, Clown is the recessive gene so that would be the visual, not pastel. Also, when it just says "het clown" then it's assumed that the animal is 100% het for that trait. :gj:

Well guys if the clown is anything like the pastel I will jump on this deal and I think you might agree. We are still negotiating and he might back out from offering me 2 snakes, if that's the case I will not get rid of my GTP for 1 ball! I'll spend the next 2-3 years learning while my GTP grows up and becomes breeder size and I think GTPs could give me an edge in the local breeding market at expos down the road if I keep him. I attached a pic of the pastel and to me this is what I call a lemon pastel regardless of who produced it. Amazing yellows and blushing, she will do amazing in my collection. I am a fan of the clowns actually so I would love to mix it with stuff in my collection now. I could even do candied clowns within the next 5 years or so :) The het should be 100 percent but I just assumed so I will have to ask himhttp://ball-pythons.net/gallery/files/5/1/5/3/1/c2.jpg

and the clown. Not the best but maybe a good start? I would essentially be picking these 2 animals up for a cost so low I really don't even want to mention.http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file.../3/1/clown.jpg

If you got both of those 100% worth it...

Even here in canada were GTPS are more expensive, its still worth.

    Clown female is rougly 700-800$

and a Pastel het clown is 300-400$(if 100% het)

a GTP is rougly 500$ hatchling 800$ yearling and up.

It really all depends if YOU'D like to. In that case ALL trades would be worth it.

I don't care much for the clown girl but I'm picky. The pastel is nice and certainly looks het clown. It's not a lemon pastel unless it comes from a line of lemon pastel though. A convertible isn't a corvette just because it's a convertible. I'd personally probably keep the gtp but I don't think it would be a mistake to make that trade. :)

Well I haven't heard back so now there is a possible trade for and Ivory (YB X YB) but I did write back about the Pastel. I agree that the Clown was not the quality that I want. I would probably spend a lot of time and money trying to use it as a base in breeding animals that I can really be proud of. Side tracking here for a moment but if I think the Corvette analogy would be more like "just because you built a Corvette using the exact same parts and used the exact same process doesn't necessarily mean you have the right to say you have a Corvette". In this case I'm not so sure it was a particular line of animal as much as it was the method to achieve the animal. Graziani and NERD were working with I assume to be the same gene animals around 97 and in 99 NERD created the first super proving it was an incomplete dominant or co-dom. From there I think he just used the right mix to get them to come out like that.

A pastel isn't a lemon pastel just because it's nice. It's about lineage. And like I said, het clown can play a part in the quality there. :gj:

True about the het playing a part and that might just be the case with this one. I haven't seen enough Pastel het Clowns to really know how the het can tweak it but I do understand what it's suppose to do which is clean it up and brighten it up as well. Again might be the case with this one like you said. I hope I get it either way as I like it.

So I went out an bought a Pastel Het Ghost and a Pinstripe today since that trade didn't go through so I'm very happy about that. Now the trade that is most likely going to happen is for the Ivory below. http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...3/1/ivory3.jpg

I have a small metal shelf downstairs that they stay in for a few weeks before heading into the reptile room upstairs. I haven't bought PAM yet but I want to. I also don't use any of the same equipment on the newbs that I use with the ones upstairs such as feeding tongs, hides, tubs, etc. When they come upstairs I put them in new tubs with new equipment and use a bleach solution to wash the tubs downstairs. I understand that 6 months is the proper QT period nowadays but I truly cant sustain that right now. So far I haven't traded I actually got the pinstripe from tsk. I will probably be trading my GTP though for that Ivory. If not then I'll breed him down the road.

Bleeker, nice name lol mine's Walter Solcheck from the big labowski. He has been designated as the one that I will keep forever.
