Congrats! Definitely a holdback!
Re: Finally hit a 0.1 Banana
Considering people have gone seasons hitting only males I would say the odds are definitely in your favor this season

lol!!
Not complaining on the odds so far this year. Just cut a Sugar Fire x Normal clutch. 6 eggs..... 2 Sugar Fires, 1 Sugar and 3 Fires :gj:

For what it's worth, I just hatched an 8 egg clutch from spider female x trick male. ALL 8 OF THEM carry the spider gene! Homozygous spider? (nope) Just incredible odds.
This was from our 2nd Banana clutch ever. First clutch was 8 eggs from a Banana x Pastel pairing.... 1.0 Banana Pastel and 2.0 Bananas, 0.1 Pastel, 0.4 Normals.
Second clutch was 5 eggs from a Banana x Normal pairing..... 3.1 Bananas, 0.1 Normal.

Corey do you know if the same male got the job done for both of those clutches?

Both Bananas were paired to both of the females. I have a feeling this one got it done based on the looks of some of the hatchlings. We have some crazy looking Normal dinker females :gj:

I'm gonna leave that one to the experts.....

Female Bananas produce normal sex ratios.
If a male banana hatches from a female banana parent it is a "female maker". The female makers produce 90+% female bananas.
If a male banana hatches from a male banana parent it is a "male maker". The male makers produce 90+% male bananas.
Female Makers are out there but there are many more male makers on the market. You can see why from what I stated above.
Re: Finally hit a 0.1 Banana
Am I the only one wondering what these " crazy looking Normal dinker females" look like ?

I'll get some pics soon. They are all a bit feisty at the moment. Clear bellies, Black Pastel looking alien heads and nice flames ;)
Re: Finally hit a 0.1 Banana
Cool, I'll keep an eye on the thread.

So what happens when you breed banana to banana? How do you tell if you have a male maker or female maker?

So what happens when you breed banana to banana? How do you tell if you have a male maker or female maker? And will a super banana produce 50/50 sex ratio?

I'm not sure, I don't have a super nor have I produced one. I did breed a female maker banana male to a coral glow female last year to try and get a super but only one male banana/coral glow hatched. Since it wasn't a female (from a female maker) I either hit the rare male from the female maker or the banana/cg gene came from mom. I sold it but I will keep in touch with the buyer to see what happens out of curiosity. I'm guessing it's a female maker (from mom) but there is a small chance its a male maker (from dad). I think that makes sense?
