Humidity T8
I am having trouble keeping humidity up in my new T8. I have added moss, wash cloths and sprayed cages. Still dropping to 40's and 50's. Currently 46% in one cage and 50% in the other. Rocky is in shed and for the first time I have had them....I am worried about a one piece shed. I am using flexwatt belly heat and RHP for heat. I have a fan on in my room, do I just need to turn it off? Any suggestions?

I've never had any issues with humidity in my T8s. What substrate are you using? I have Reptibark and just a medium water bowl and I'm never below 56%.

It's probably because you're using papertowels as a substrate. If your humidity is in the 40s and 50s, thats fine if the BP isnt shedding. When he is in shed, just put some moss in his cave which should bump up the humidity.

Add moss, or just mist him once a day, before you go to bed or in morning, Twice if youd like, When my young BPs are in shed (under 600g i have them on paper) I mark there tub with a marker and mist them in the morning, All perfect sheds!

I've noticed a considerable drop in humidity when our fan gets flipped on. Have a humidifier set to kick on for the cage to maintain humidity levels and it runs a lot with a fan on.

Not a ton of experience here but I think the circulation of the air from the fan simply draws the humidity out of the cage. That's why I've installed a humidifier specifically for the cage to kick on when the humidity drops below a preset %. I can bump it up during shed and lower during normal times. My girl is currently in a 24x18 glass cage that I've had to modify the crap out of to maintain temps and humidity. Just got an AP T10 (48x24x15) that I'm currently setting up. Hope to not have to tie in my humidifier on this set up but if I have to, I know it'll work from my experience with my current set up.

Is fan on direct or is is oscillating. This could help aswell and it is not so bad aslong as he isnt in shed, gives him more fresh air =)
But aswell like others said you do have paper, just place a water dish under/over RHP/UTH and be prepaired to fill but thatll keep it up.

Re: Humidity T8
I have a ceiling fan and a direct fan the blows on the bed. I turned them both off uesterday and we are maintaining upper 70's now. Rocky is in blue now...so hopefully wont be too much longer and I can turn them back on....at least at night.

Re: Humidity T8
I must say....I haven't had any further trouble with anything in regard to our new set up.....while they are in shed....turn the fans off. We had almost perfect sheds....and will expect them to be even better since I know what the problem was before. The heat is awesome and I havent had to mess with a thing since the first few days. Glad I purchased these....next time might go for a tad bit taller though.

The PVC setup is expensive initially, but definitely worth it in the long run. I just ended up ordering a T10. It's only 3 inches but I think it will make a difference. Anyways, I'm glad you like your setup. :)
