Butter Het Clown x Fire Het Clown
Butter Het Clown x Fire Het Clown...

Beat the odds on this one. 3 Clown morphs and 2 Normals. All different looking Clowns, which I hope is good for what I'm after. Her sister's eggs are due to cut in 2 weeks :gj:

Oh man. Lovely! Although, considering how variable lesser/butter clowns can be... I'm not really sure we can have confidence that you hit 3 different morphs/combos just because the 3 babies look different. Looks promising though! Last one sure looks nuclear.

    Thanks everyone.

There is a lot of variety in Butter Clowns, so we are going to be happy no matter what they are seeing how we only have a 0.1 visual Clown at the moment..... the rest are all 100% Hets (1.0 Butter, 1.0 Pastel, 0.2 Fire and 0.1 Pastel). Not very confident the 0.1 Clown will go this season. She was paired with a Banana and Butter Het. Very small follicles and she has started eating like a horse again and currently in shed. Not looking promising there...

We're very excited on this pairing considering there is a 25% chance at hitting anything Clown, and we hit 3 Clowns. It's going to be a long wait till they crawl out of the eggs!!

FWIW- In all the excitement we may have dismissed the remaining two as Normals too early. They could be Fires recalling their looks. The windows are skimmed back over and pretty much sealed up again. We are not bothering them till they crawl out on their own.

Just for you.... first pipper- and it's a male :gj:

Possible Nuke is much lighter and not pipped yet. I will need to compare the two once they are out of the egg, side by side.

Looks like a very nice 1.0 Butter Clown to replace my 1.0 Butter 100% Het Clown!!

Bah. Who needs a nuke when you can have one of these? Looks SO pretty.

Kinda scratching my head as to how you know its a male when it's still this much in the egg. Unless of course it really is out and you are holding out on us...

    Not holding out ;)

Second Clown pipper. I really can't call these two with any certainty to save my life. Post shed looks will clarify things a bit with some more color.

Turns out we were fooled by the last of this clutch to pip out of the egg last night :O

Not a Fire Clown at all...... 1.0 Nuclear 66% Het Clown. I'll take it..... looks promising :gj:

Group photo of the two Clowns and the Nuclear Het. Compare for yourselves and I think we have an idea on what these two Clowns are....

Those are amazing snakes, without a doubt. An easy sell for me, considering butter/lesser clowns are one of my favorite morphs ever. I'm not sure if you hit the nuke clown though. The one on the right certainly looks like it was painted from the same pallet as the nuclear. And, it has some pinky peachy tones on its lower sides I've noticed in hatchling fire/fire combos before. But, I wouldn't have expected that adding fire would have darkened the dorsal compared to the butter clown. Both clowns seem to fit within the range of variability we've seen with butter/lesser clowns. But since I don't think I've ever seen a nuclear clown (would this be a world's first?), for all I know, they could both be nukes. I'm hoping a shed or 2 will make it more clear.

If you decide it is all too confusing, feel free to box them up and ship them off to me. :D

Both the sire and dam are from Wilbanks. If you look on WOBP's at Mike's Fire Clowns, you will see that the dorsal stripe is very dark.... darker than I would expect from a Fire Clown, but that's how they are.

    Images 3 and 4....

    http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/fire-clown/

The comparison to the Nuclear 66% Het Clown in the middle is very notable in the group pics. We are waiting till this clutch sheds and will evaluate their looks again. We're not making any calls on any of the Clowns yet, but we have two well known breeders opinions on what they are given the same group pics as above.

There is another 5 egg clutch due to this 0.1 Fire 100% Het Clowns sister due on 7/13/14 paired to the same 1.0 Butter 100% Het Clown. Hopefully we will have some more validation as to what we have produced at that point, as this clutch should be pretty close to their first sheds by then.

Thanks to all those who are interested in seeing what is going on. All of the input is being absorbed here ;)

Ah. You know, I looked up every butter/lesser fire combo I could think of, and compared them (the ones I could find pics of) to the same combo minus the fire, but I didn't think to look at fire clowns. They are surprisingly dark on the dorsal. Seeing that, it makes me lean much more towards that being a nuke clown.

I'd take the opinions of those well known breeders over mine anyway. :P
