Best belly shot I could get I don't think he's a normal bc compared to my other normals he is so much brighter and I did get him from a reputable reptile shop http://i.imgur.com/ehdLHdw.jpg

Nothing about that snake says pastel. It is a nice reduced normal though.

Definitely not a Pastel. That yellow you're seeing low on the sides (second pic of your first post) is fairly common on normals...

Very nice reduced pattern normal, no pastel in that snake at all.

That's a very nice reduced normal. Idk where anyone would get off selling it as a pastel. There is literally nothing that says pastel. Regardless its a great looking bp.

That snake is a normal, and appears to have some sort of burn or scale rot on its belly, both of which you were told in this thread:
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...0-Weird-pastel

You didn't believe all the people that told you it is a normal... I hope you at least listened and are doing something about whatever is going on with his belly.

He does not have scale rot or burn he's been to a vet in the past month and is completely healthy it's just the way the picture and lighting is I do not see anything that looks like scale rot or a burn

    Re: Update on weird pastel
Everyone is talking about the big black mark on the belly. If that is the natural color and not an old scar it would then be impossible to be a pastel as pastels have a clean belly. Also there is no brown out line, head markings are all wrong, everything about that animal screams not pastel. But it is beautiful and if you believe it is a morph breed it to a normal female and let everyone see the results. I would bet on a clutch of normals.

In the lower half of that picture, the belly looks reddish, almost purplish. If the snake does indeed have that color on its belly, something is wrong. If it is just weird lighting, ok.

I can tell you 1000% that u don't have a pastel. Sorry, which reptile shop did you get it at?

I would hold the opinions of the members of this forum over the opinions of pretty mu h every reptile store in north america. Owning a reptile store or working at one doesn't necessarily provide said person with the polymorphic knowledge that you will see in this forum. You have a community full of breeders, experts, and industry leaders here... everyone is telling you that this is not a pastel - sorry it sucks, but that's the reality and it doesn't matter what you were told by the person who made money off of telling you your normal was a pastel.

You could turn that animal inside out, and you still wouldn't find a Pastel gene
