I mainly want people to guess because I don't know. The previous owner said it was pretty much normal, but did have other morphs mixed it. I love his colors, they seem to be much more vibrant than any other normal I have seen. Beautiful.

There is no "pretty much normal" with "other morphs mixed" in. The genetics are either there or they aren't. The previous owner was likely trying to make their sale and didn't know what they were talking about. If they did, they would have told you exactly what they were and probably would've priced it accordingly.

Do you know for sure he's a he?

Ah Yes. The incredibly rare " This is just a dime-a-dozen normal, but if I can fool some poor sap into paying a ridiculous price for it because they don't know any better that's great" morph. We see a lot of those here.

Don't know for sure he is a he. I don't want to mess with him too much since I just got him. And I didn't pay much for him, it was a trade that was heavily in my favor. He priced him at 135.

He said something about him having het clown and het ghost in him. I don't think he is a dime a dozen normal, I've seen tons of normals, and he blows the other two I have out of the water. His colors seem more orange and yellow to me than the typical normal. And he has a fantastic sheen.

Just wanted to see if the guy knew for sure what he was talking about or was just making things up.

No offense, but I hope you didn't shell out anywhere close to $135 worth in trade for him. Male normals sell for CONSIDERABLY less than that. Heck, proven adult female normals sell for less than that.

I didn't. My trade was worth 110. And I got two balls, a 40 gallon tank, several hides and decorations, and a lamp. The tank was almost brand new and looks great, with a sliding lock lid as well.

With hets (as in they don't visually show their genetics, but are able to pass them on through breeding), unless you are certain of the genetics of the parents, there's no way to tell without breeding them - "proving the hets".

    1) He could be an actual double het; 2) he could be a possible double het, or 3) he could be nothing at all. Unfortunately, your guess is as good as any of ours on here as to which slot he fits in.

Nice looking animal but I guess normal as well. As long as your happy with the snake, who cares? I don't keep reptiles to please other people.

Well he still has some beautiful yellow contrast. You could try breeding him to see if anything comes out but you'll need to get a female with the required gene to match what he may be hiding.
At the end of the day he is still a very beautiful animal. Normal, het or rainbow.

The fact that he is prettier than other normals mean nothing. There is a LOT of variability in normals, and some of them have to fall on the prettier end of the scale.

He may be double het or he may not. Only breeding will tell. I'm not sure I'd bother to breed a normal appearing "maybe het" though. Guess it depends on how much you trust the seller, both in that they were honest, and that they actually knew what they were talking about.
