Lid or no lid after cutting/pipping?
So we have a clutch pipping any day and we wonder what to do once they start sticking their head out?We can't find this info anywhere, so here goes:In the incubator, do you keep the lid on the box until all the babies are out of the egg? Can they breath that way? We have two air holes in the box, Brian Gundy style:)

So it turns out it was 2 Lessers after all! :)
How long does it usually take for them to crawl out once you cut? As i said we cut on day 55.
Appreciate your reply as we're dying from impatience here!:)

Forever. ;):p
I had one crawl out that night, and the rest trickled out over the next few days.

I'd have to look, I think it was day 56. I waited for pippers then cut. I had 2 that night so cut the rest. It was one of the pippers came out that night.

I cut either after the first egg pips or on day 58 whichever comes first. I also leave the lid on and have no air holes. They are usually out of the egg within a day or two after they pip\cut.
