BP hasn't moved since I got him.

I understand BPs don't move a lot any way, but what worries me is he is out in the open and not in either of the hides. He has been curled up just outside of the entrance of his warm hide which he is still over the heat mat where he is at any way so I don't think it's the heat. Temps are running 85 on hot side low 70s on cool side. Humidity stays around 60.

How long have you had it? And has it eaten?

If it's eating then it's fine. Some BP's are just weird.

Then give it some time. Let it be itself. Only be concerned if it doesn't eat for a while and starts losing weight or you see some obvious external signs of something wrong.

If anything, I'd bump the high heat to 90.

Ok sweet I'll do that, just makes me worried since I spent a decent amount getting a bumblebee.

You could contact the seller and see if thats normal.
How are you checking your temperature?
Did you get it from a show or pet store or local?
Give it time but keep watch.
Pics of your setup could help also.

He has literally not moved at all since you put him in the tank? What does he do if you pick him up?

I have temp gun that I use to check Temps

That's another reason why I'm a bit nervous I got him at petco. I had gotten a 50% off any reptile purchase coupon, but this petco was the nicest one I have ever seen they even had two blue eyed lucies there it was awesome.

He cruised around a lot the first night and from yesterday evening till now has been in the same spot just outside of the hide.

Petco has a 7 or 14 day return policy ?

A happy BP is a colorful pet rock! Most of mine, stay coiled in the middle of there tubs. during summer and hotspot during winter!!!

haha that's pretty much all it is! which I do like a lot. my corn snake cruises to much to just chill and watch TV so I'm excited about this BP. I just hope he is healthy and fine. I did notice in his first night of cruising he showed a wee bit of spider wobble which my wife that was the most hilarious thing ever.

If my hides are that big of a deal I'll change them, but I feel that a snake doesn't care about its interior decorations especially. This one who doesn't care to use them.

I think I see the problem, the hide is way to big they want a tight spot so they feel safe. In the picture the animal is wedged between the hide and the cage, a tight fit.

Make sure the bee can touch 3 sides with just a small opening in front.
Easy fix.

Opinions vary based on what you want in a bee.
I look for higher white sides so 5 - 6 but its what you like that matters.
Another thing to remember, where do pet stores get their animals?
Right, from a breeder. Do you think the breeder gives the top tier animals
to the store?
Nope the breeder gives the top tier animals to his/her customers.
Whats left goes to the pet shop.
If there are any shows near you go check them out you'll have a blast!

Yeah I have been to tons of shows. I'm pretty happy with this little thing. it's the best bee I have seen in a pet store, but I don't have plans on breeding any way, maybe in the future.

ha it already has my wife is making me downsize. to keep the bee I have to sell my silver trans Pecos and caramel motley corn snake. we live in a one bedroom apartment so all these cages is taking up space so we made a deal that I can get a bigger snake if I downsize the others. it's sad but for the best in our situation.

Yeah I'm trying to convince her of that. she feels like it's an eye sore and she is still very terrified of them so I think that is playing a factor also. I think she doesn't like the fact of more snakes until I can have my own reptile room.

Eye sore! I personally think racks look amazing! Professional aswell! I love my ARS rack, and I loved my PVC rack! Very clean and tidy, aswell so easy to clean its almost a "Joy" to clean them, while holding each snake in the tub!
