My first breeding season!

Hey everybody! Just thought I would post some progress pictures of my very first breeding season.
The only pairing I've had this season is Eve (100% het pied) x Loki (Vanilla 66% PDH pied/OG) and as of today I am on day 21 since Eve's prelay shed.

Thanks guys! I'm very excited to see what comes from this pairing. :D
The male has some intense pied markers so that bodes well, and I'll be trying to prove him out for the OG next season most likely.
Day 22 today so hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer for eggs!

its always a nice surprise when going to clean tub and getting eggs!

Day 24, she's looking more uncomfortable but it's definitely going to be a little bit before she drops! Doesn't even have egg butt yet :P

** UPDATE!!! **
I officially have my first clutch of eggs! I found her on them just after 6am this morning (day 37).
Eve did an amazing job, laid 5 perfect eggs with great veins (total weight 440g), didn't kick anything out, and now she's in a clean tub getting some rest before I start offering food in a few days.

These beautiful little pearls are tucked away in the incubator and are due to hatch around August 18th-19th :D
So excited about this clutch!!

Well everybody I am very excited to update you on this clutch!!

Today is day 59 and I decided to cut the eggs a little bit, and it looks like it was worth the shot breeding the possible het!
He is a possible het no more :)

Looks like a pied in that egg! I had trouble seeing what was in most of the others (at least one is a vanilla/normal) just because only two dimpled and it's difficult to see through the surface tension of the full ones. Plus I only cut tiny windows. I'll post another update when they're out! :D:D:D

Not entirely sure what is what, and I am still not 100% positive about whether the pied is a vanilla or not! Any opinions are welcome, but I am going to need to see the rest of them out of the egg before I'm convinced ;)

And that is a gorgeous Pied, I absolutely adore the head and how it starts dark and then fades into brighter markings. <3

GROUP SHOTS!!!! Love these babies. I hit phenomenal odds (though the sex ratio was a little male heavy at 4.1) and ended up with 1.0 Vanilla pied, and 3.1 vanillas.
Father is possible het ghost and two of his offspring are just as orange as him so I am a little bit hopeful that they might carry it as well. Going to be proving all that out in the next few seasons.

This whole process was an amazing experience and I'm thrilled to have homes for all the babies I plan on letting go :)

It's so great to prove out a ph, you can rename him now! Vanilla het pied poss het OG!

Thank you! And yeah it was incredibly exciting to see that little pied baby in the egg. This season he will likely be paired to proved out his het ghost, but I'm still figuring out who that will be with :)
