It;s about some guy who keeps giant snakes in his basement. The photo of him and his Burm is worth the visit. I never knew that burms got so big; maybe it is a retic??

    Wow, check this site out!
Good grief -- the guy keeps three giants in a single cage and feeds them without a backup person and without separating the snakes? AND he's feeding live chickens? What a shining example of husbandry -- NOT!

Ive seen that pic before, Im pretty certain it is a burm. Gotta be one of the biggest in captivity though.

yeah, I'd keep my 150 pound alligator snapper with a pair of caimen too, why not? lol

    The statement at the bottom:

    Quote:

Anyone want to take a stab at how many feeding errors are demonstrated in the above incident?
needs to be huge bold italics.

    That's ridiculous stuff lol.

thats friggin crazy, you think he would put the chicken on some big pole/tong thing and put it in the snakes cage and feed, but i guess not.

Ive seen that website before, its one of the first i saw when i wanted a burmses python, ididnt know anything about them so i looked them up and found that and then i got my nice SMALL ball python instead

Wow. I think if I got my hand chomped on by a big snake... it would definitely ruin my day. ;)

    I couldn't imagine a 20 foot shed. that's insane.

yeah that would be pretty crazy

"Hidden speakers"? "Jungle music"? I get guilty having my stereo on 6 feet from my 3-foot snakes. I can't imagine how stressed these poor critters must be with music blaring at them all the time.

Haha, wow, like Smulkin said...that little bit at the bottom of the story...it's quite an understatement. My hats off to that guy for being able to keep all these animals the way he is and not being killed yet...

And yeah, I'm pretty certain that's a burmese python. I can see the pattern a bit in the dark and poor quality pic, and it matches the burmese pattern by the looks of it. I've seen that webpage a while ago, and didn't know/think burmese can get that big. But you can never predict how big your snake's gonna get, I guess. That's why there's a Guinnes Book of World Records...weird things happen. ;)

Holy mother of ..... dat thing is huge! Hes very lucky to be able to tell that feeding story. Yeah dats got to be a burmese. or maybe a retic.

    BallPythonBabe448
It is a burmese python 20ft. Long. The biggest Burm in captivity is like 24ft. read the other ones about the killings by snakes...and yet they all happen when you let your snake roam the house freely like a cat instead of a cage! those people are just stupid!

    the most horrendous eating habits!
Yeah, that snake could definately eat that guy. And maybe he should, lol. Seriously though, if the guy does get hurt due to his moronic keeping skills, it'll just make the public more afraid of snakes. I hate idiots!

That snake is "Baby" she's a 27' 403 lb burmese python, and she's in the guiness book of world records.

Yeah, burms reach at least 20 ft. I've petted a 13 foot long albino burm. It's really amazing to see how pretty the scales are when they're that big.

You know, I don't think I'd want to see the "present" that a 13 foot long burm leaves.

I wish I had the means to keep a burm. They are one of my favorite snakes. But they just get to darn big for me to ever be able to keep.

Yeah, burms are truly beautiful. Pictures do them no justice either. Have you seen the granite morph burms? So cool!

Nope, but I've help a normal baby burn and almost asked my mom to buy me it. He was ti die for! You know, maybe someday I will have a burm. hopefully.

    Mouse in the microwave
They're truly docile too. I've held an 80lb 8'+ albino burm by myself for hours on end. (not easy work, but the snake was great)

You may consider a male burm, if you don't overfeed it, they usually won't be 20' more like 12-15'. That's still huge though.

Well yeah. But I hope someday to buy a house with a large basement. Maybe there I could make a big enough cage.

I just noticed this.. Baby's 'presents' are bowling ball size. :)

A burm or retic over a blood? Out of their minds, I tell you! lol I LOVE bloods. I think after I get a boa, a pair of bloods will be next on my list.

I just got a pair of kenyan sandboas.. about two days ago. They are the sweetest snakes in the world. I'm totally in love with them. :) One of mine is anerythristic (black and white) and the other is a het anery. So when they have babies (in a few years) some will be anery, and the others will look normal and carry the anery gene. Neat stuff.

sk8er4life, the burm pictured is the world's heaviest snake. Certified by guiness world records, and she's much bigger now than when in the pic.

Serpent Safari Park in Gurnee, eh? Maybe I should look it up and stop in for a visit sometime..I've never heard of it, and Gunree isn't that far away....

If I go, I'll see if I can bring back pictures.

I am lucky. My job is very cool. One of the neatest things was getting to watch our 350lb anaconda give birth to 70 babies. Very cool.. though the anaconda lost 100lbs having them. lol

You want to find out about what?
