This stuff thumbs down from me as far as using it for a BP. Especially for larger ball pythons with larger belly scales, that stuff could get in between them if they moved in a certain way. Don't use it, Reptibark is cheaper anyway I think....

I know of some one who uses it for a Redtail he says its worked great for him and it is digestable and it doesnt' get in the scales.

I'd also pass on it. It looks like sand, but I don't know exactly what it is(pic's small..and my eyes suck ;)). The main thing that turned me off of it though, was the package saying "Desert Blend". When I think desert, I think dry. And bp's thrive in humidity, so a substrate that's for a dry-environment reptile probably wouldn't be best for a reptile that's found in humid areas of Africa. I'd use newspaper before I used something like that. Just my opinion though. :)
Edit: Did a quick search for this Desert blend substrate...seems it's crushed walnut shells, used to substitute sand.
Quote:
Desert Blend Lizard Litter is the ideal terrarium sand substitute for all desert dwelling reptiles. It is made from English Walnut shells that are ground to a uniform size.
We use that for our Sudanese Plated Lizard - it's not really good unless you are trying to replicate an arid environment.

Yep, I use reptibark myself. It does well with humidity, and is aesthetically pleasing when trying to make an environment that's natural looking. Only thing I don't like is the price. I get mine from a local pet shop, and he charges 12 dollars for a small bag. Luckily the small bag does my 20gal nicely and lasts a while.
