Pippers!! Perplexing Pieds.....

A few pippers from my Black Pastel 100% Het Pied x Het Pied this morning :gj:

I am quite convinced the one on the left in the first pic is a Black Pastel Pied, but the head pattern on these two is quite interesting.

The first pic is of the right side of their heads. Second pic is of the left side of their heads.

Left hatchling is all white except the head. Right hatchling has one spot on the body. They may both be Black Pastel Pieds. 1/16 odds on a Het x Het pairing is quite incredible if so!!

Note how EACH snake has a one side of it's head solid black and the other side has a stripe.

Perplexing pied pippers, for sure!! Those are crazy! Congrats on hitting some amazing odds!! I don't think I've ever seen a head pattern like that, and you got two of them? Can't wait to see the babies fully hatched and cleaned up!

Double input from two different breeders (one who I purchased the Black Pastel Het Pied from) that they are both Black Pastel Pieds and split head patterns are not uncommon.

That's crazy! Can't wait to see them out.

I didn't have any doubt that they were black pastel, but it's good to know that's not an uncommon head pattern for them. Learn something new every day! They're very cool...congrats again!!

Not exactly sure yet. I'd like to probably sell them both and get into an Enchi Pied project which I have a little more passion for.

Considering I have 0.2 visual Pieds I bred the same male to, I have a better shot at more BP Pieds. These will be beefed up and on my table at Daytona :)

Great looking PIEDs... Looking forward to seeing these little ones post shed and good luck with the Enchi Pied project!

All 5 hatchlings are out of the egg in their own shoebox tubs.

Final results: 1.2 Black Pastel 66% Het Pieds and 1.1 Black Pastel Pieds.

Here is a clutch pic. Last female out was 49g. She was a twin, but the other baby in the egg was not close to being fully developed. All I could make out was a belly :(

Great odds! Congrats! I have my hat in the Enchi Pied ring too. I hope to have some Pewter Enchi Pieds and Sterling Enchi Pieds in 2015. Probably could have tried this season but I'm not in a big rush. Keep me posted on your progress. I'm awaiting eggs from Pewter Pied x Pewter Pied.....should be interesting.

Thanks!! Very excited to have these out of the egg as the first clutch of the season. Can't complain with the odds on a Het x Het pairing..... no Normals!!

I probably won't get those odds with my other 0.2 Pieds he was bred to.... lol!!

First to shed from the first clutch. Excited to see the progress. I had just misted her before taking the pics.... I'll post more pics when the entire clutch has shed. Not bad pics for my $99 Canon and no light tent at the moment here. Point and shoot :gj:
