Is feeding two rat fuzzies in one sitting okay?

Hello all,
I have a 4 month old Caramel Albino BP (Gozer.) I ordered 50 rat fuzzies online and am only half way through the bag. The thickest rats in the bag are slightly smaller than the thickest part of her body. I feed her once every seven days and started giving her a larger fuzzy along with a smaller fuzzy in one sitting. The first offer is the larger fuzzy rat, then I wait couple of hours and feed her the smaller rat.

I do not want to waste any of my prey, so I want to feed her two rats until the bag is finished and can order larger rats for her. Is this method of feeding appropriate for a 4 month old BP?

Also, I am not sure of her weight because I do not have a scale. I just rely on comparing the prey's girth to Gozer's. Would anybody recommend me investing in a scale?

If anybody can let me know, I would appreciate it.

Feeding multiples is fine. You don't even need to wait a few hours. I haven't done it a lot but a few times. When the first one's completely down, I put the next one in.

I attempted to feed her the second one tonight, but she refused. Just curious, do you have a scale to weigh your BP? I am thinking about getting one but am wondering if it is a worthy tool to monitor my snake's weight and overall health.

I do have a scale. It's a digital food scale. You can get them at pretty much any department store, they're pretty cheap.

I think its probably a good idea, but I wouldn't say you need to run out and get one right this second. I'm a pet-snake-owner, not a breeder or collector or anything like that. I weigh my snake maybe once every 6 weeks. She went a couple of months without eating recently and I monitored more closely during that time, but I'm not usually very diligent about it.

Everyone has their own way when it comes to record keeping and it probably depends on your personality and what your plans for your snake(s) is.

Yupp it's totally okay :) I have to do the same with my yellow belly girl. She's quickly outgrowing her rat pups so I feed her one one day and then another the next because won't eat two in one sitting for some reason. She probably feels like a fatty lol. And I'd definitely pick up a scale :) they really come in handy.

You could always go on a feeding schedule of one every four days. You'd go through the food just about as fast, but would probably lower the chances of a refusal.

To Riditmars: Feeding every four days would help with meal refusal. However, I do like to handle Gozer as much as I can and think that I cannot do that because as soon as she is done digesting one rat, I feed her another one and have to wait another 48 hours. What are your thoughts on this?

I handle mine the day after feeding and have had no problems. I think you will find several people on here that do the same. I have not had any problems so far.

Personally I don't own a scale, but I don't breed my ball pythons. I think they are weighed by breeders mainly because most buyers want to know the weight of the snake.

I handle mine after 24 hours and never a problem. I never wait 48

I understand your dilemma. The method I proposed would have her in some state of constant digestion. Clearly you have too many small prey items. I think the only sure cure is another hatchling BP to help you go through your feeding stock quicker and move up to the next size needed.

See, that was easy!

One more question for everybody. I do plan on getting a scale. Any recommendations on what company and model for the scale?

I use a kitchen scale thats weighs food. It works perfectly! You can find them at Walmart for cheap :)
