The longer I have this snake, the more I come to adore her. I never would have thought her colors would come in the way they have. I was also worried that the bigger she grew, the duller she would get. She's pushing 3.5 feet and is more beautiful with every shed, so no worries there.

2013 female Hog Island Boa (BCI)

She isn't docile like my ball pythons, but she's definitely pretty chill. Only time I've ever had an issue with her is one time I spooked her while she was in her cage. She struck and hissed a bit but was fine the next day. Feeding day is a whole 'nother story like most boas. She seems to like being out and will "protest" being put away by trying to sneak out before you close the door :)

That is a nice looking Hog.

Who was the breeder? She looks well cared for and in shape. Nice job.

I definitely know what you mean. When I first came across them, I thought they were almost ugly. The more I looked at them, the more they grew on me. At this point they are one of my favorite species. Especially when they're in their light phase!

Not sure who she was bred by. I picked her up through the Reptile Rapture shop. They had an early picture of her, and already she was showing tons of pink. I knew I had to have her.

She is big! My 2013 hogg island female is much smaller than that, she's close to a year and half old too. Are you sure she is a 2013? I think she might be older--but that is just my guess.

Here's how big mine is: (my phone camera doesn't do her colors justice!)

She is big. I thought maybe she was an EARLY 2013 animal. She's really been hitting some growth spurts since the weather warmed up. I thought maybe I was overfeeding, but she just gets a small rat (appropriate size) once every week and a half to two weeks. I can't imagine that's too much?
