My Second Ever Ball Python-Champagne Fire
I wanted to add something out of the ordinary to the collection.

Well, maybe "out of the ordinary" for me as ball pythons are quite common here but I wanted a snake, which I can interact with on another level*. (* without fear of imminent death :) )

So here is my "champagne fire" girl after 10+ yrs of no ball pythons:

She is so white, she looks like super fire than champagne fire but who the hell cares, she is gorgeous.

These are just quick cell phone pictures from the parking lot, better pictures and videos will follow...

That was my question to the breeder. She had a clutch-mate with a lot of pattern and they offered me her as well. So I assume the genetics are correct.

I'm not a fan of the all white snakes. They are very pretty just something don't seem right. I like how your little guy has a pink neck head. Still very nice snake buddy

I love the black eyes! Blue eyeds are pretty too, but something about the contrast between white bodies and black eyes just makes me so happy. Lovely addition, congrats! Enjoy not being at risk of sudden death during handling! :P

    Thanks guys!

She is indeed very pretty and quite inquisitive for a ball python.

I was examining her closely this morning and when you look carefully, the eyes are a very very dark blue almost black and pupil is a very very dark red.

I need to take some macro shots when I have time.

    First feeding is the hardest:

She was only fed live before I got her so she obviously rejected my first attempt with frozen/thawed a few days ago. Today I waited until dark, warmed up the adult mouse really good and she went for it. I tried a second one afterwards but she wasn't very interested. Anyway, I consider this a victory ;).

She ate two mice today in broad daylight. I love heat sensing snakes, they are so easy to convert.

What was the pairing that produced her? Were both the Sire and Dam carrying the fire gene?

    Sire Champagne , Dam Fire.

The only thing I can think of is sire being Champagne Fire but looking like a champagne, which is possible I guess...

Sure doesn't look like that but I assume she can be Champagne Super Fire I assume.

In my opinion, that's either a result of sperm retention or the sire has fire in it. Regardless, That's a super fire :gj:.

Beautiful snake, regardless of the pairing that resulted in it! Clearly a great feeder for you :)
