Crazy Idea.... Is this cool or am I just crazy...

So I was playing around with Pied Genes on the wizard today.... I have 2 het pieds I'm hoping to get some nice babies out of... Thats the easy part.... Here's the crazy idea (it probably has been done before/allready but i want opinions before I invest years into this)

I plan on getting hold of a Mojave. Now.... Assuming my Het's will give me a pied, If I breed my Mojave to my Pied I should get Mojave's het for pied, normal het pieds, normals, and mojave's. Now say I pick out the Mojave's het for pied and they breed. In theory I could get a Blue Eyed Pied Lucy? Granted all the odds would have to be in my favor and I would have to be really good at picking out hets LOL.. Plus this is years down the road, but its good to have a plan/idea!

on paper, it's not too difficult to do but i think there's a reason why nobody is doing it.

aside from the genetics, i'm thinking there's no difference between it and a regular leucistic. no spectacular color or pattern mutation to add any wow factor to this project.
plus, it would be difficult to ID. if you get any all white snakes, how would you know which are pied and which are regular leucistic?

It sounds interesting from a genetics perspective, but would you have to prove out each snake to be able to say it was a lucy pied and not just a lucy? That sounds like a massive hassle. I know upi can combine genes with albino (albino pieds are amazing) but does it work like that with the leucistic genes?

you breed a Mojave to a Pied, every normal is a Het Pied and every Mojave is a Het Pied. The Mojave Pied project has been done and not all that attractive of a cross.

Assuming you breed a mojave to a pied you would only get mojaves and normals all 100% het for pied so that eliminates the guess work. I think J.P. has the right idea on why it hasnt been heavily worked with.

OK I didn't know if it would be cool. I love pieds and have been trying to find a good plan of attack for a pretty snake. Cinnamon pieds are nice. I have to do some research. May e I'll aim for a pewter pied

I Agree on all things Pied.....and we are just beginning with the combos. :D

Those are amazing bud. I have no intentions on going that pied crazy. I just really want a pied lol. If my hets don't prove out I'll end up buying one. In the 5th picture the white one that is stretched out with the grey head and spot. What is that? I really like how she looks

i'm a fan of pied projects myself. there's so many combos to choose from other than leucistics.
spider pieds are pretty straightforward, and also have the potential for an -white pied snake (white wedding), which needs no guesswork/proving out when it comes to proper ID.

If you want to start a Pied project, you should start with a Pied and a het Pied morph. It's going to make things a lot easier and it's going to not only take the guess work out of the equation, it will also give you much faster results.

I have a Pied project of my own. I have a Pastave het Pied girl and a Pied boy. I'm trying to go for a Pastave Pied. But that's not going to happen for at least two years.

Like some already said for odds if you got a Mojave. Ghost get het pie to a Mojave pied het ghosts you would get much better odds.
But then again it would cost more

True. I'm just thinking of future ideas. Only problem is all the babies. I think if I were to get a Mojave ghost and put her on here for a hundred or so it will be gone quick. Not trying to get rich or make money. Just want cool snakes that I made. Makes me feel accomplished. Now if I was breeding for money I would have bought an adult pied an albino and the ivory my breeder had lkl

lesser pieds are being done.

a visual pied with just one copy of the lesser gene (not blue-eye leucistic) tends to be an all-white snake with dark eyes. people do that because piebald white is a very pure and bright white.

WOBP has a few pictures of mojave pied, they have a lot of white but still some pattern and dark patches. its a matter of taste, but i see why you would want to aim for mojave pied.

but super mojave pied.... i dont know. you could go for dark eyes and a perfectly white body with lesser pied, or you could go for a BEL with super lesser or lesser mojave. both options are easier to produce and easier to identify.

Not everyone can be as Pied crazy as me....well I know of a few.lol. I was only showing you some of the options available. I still have more but I really need to take new pics. The one you are asking about is a Sterling Pied. We just had a huge ovulation from Pewter Pied X Pewter Pied....so we are really pumped about this because of the chance at producing more world's first Pied combos. We're about 3-4 months out so we are a bit anxious.

Thats awesome... I am very Pied Crazy... I love it.. I am not big on all white snakes, IDK i was thinking with the blue eyed pied lucy thing... Maybe a pure white snake with a duller white spots and blue eyes? lol. Pewter is a morph i would love to get into, I have been eyeing some cinnamons to make the pewters :D. But right now i don't have the money, and my Normal Pied project is going to be enough for just me. Maybe if I can get my wife into it it will be cool.

I also decided to purchase a Female Pastel 100% Het Pied tonight. So I hope my Male Het Pied enjoys doing it :D hahaha. Poor Dinker though, I need to get him a GF!

What would be cool is to have high yellow super fires (black eyed lucys) and make pieds out of them. It wouldn't be the same kind of yellowor pattern as albinos, and it wouldn't be all white.
