New pick up

Here's my Powerball.
Currently quaratine/snake jail.

I picked him up on the 1st but wanted to give him some settle time.

First of all, great looking snake! Second, I love that hide, but I hesitate to buy it because I think my heat lamp will melt it. How is yours holding up?

If your heat lamp is that hot, and that close, the hide would be the least of my concerns...

Nah ,man my dudes is cool, he is in his own tub chilling in snake jail
no heat lamp he is totally in 80 deg weather at all times

that hide is a mammal hide but its that or i steal my gecko hides for him...my gecko would be piissed lol

breed mice and this guy would eat everyday if he could....in fact he ate 6 mice in 3 days...he is a great eater so i gotta control that killer instinct hes always looking for food...BABY INSTINCT. but i dont have a name for him yet... i was thinking Carl like aqua team hunger force since he has a mustached guy on his head....unless you guys have a clever name?

All my temps are correct, it is just that the hide I have seen like that is for guinea pigs and it is quite tall. The heat lamp would be a about 3-4 inches from the top. I was wondering if it would melt/ warp over time from being that close.

It's a hard plastic-like material (but I think all natural). It's totally fine. It breaks down by chewing, not heat :P I've been using it for several months and it hasn't changed formed.
As I say to many people, our skin's natural temperature is often higher than the ball python's UTH (or what is should be - 90F). If that material would melt or what have you at 90F... then we wouldn't be able to hold it :P
