    Stupid expensiveness
well i walked into my room a few seconds ago to find roxy in her water bowl like,IN HER WATER BOWL ,like UNDER WATER,it scared the crap outta me, i thought she had fallen in and drowned but when i walked, and stood next to her tank she turned her head and look at me from under the water, then i saw her exhale and come up for air, it was pretty cool but really scary, anyone ever seen a bp do that before ?

Hah, Roo and Vash both "dive" when I give them baths. Freaked me out too, but they always lift their heads up eventually.

Maybe it's like us; they huff and puff enough and they can shoot water out their noses. ;)

Andy does that sometimes. Freaked me out the first time i saw him do it, but then i realized after a couple of times that he must know what he's doing :)

hey, how do you give your bp's baths?? i know you dont HAVE to... but when you do, do you just stick them in a bowl or something?? i soaked pandora in a big tupperware bowl when she was shedding.

I actually either fill up another spare rubbermaid, or i will directly put them in the bathtub. Just make sure the water isnt too warm. I've got another digi thermometer to measure the water temp. I try to keep it right around 80 degrees.

what about chemicals from shampoo or soap or what have you?? you'd think that the bathrub would have stuff like that floatin around in it

I use a spare Rubbermaid for exactly those reasons, Angela. Either that or the sink, since the sink gets cleaned much more thoroughly than our tub does.

I actually have a spare bathtub that hasnt been used in probably 10 years ;). Its now the bathroom for herps :). If i use anything in the tub with them its a very small amount of unscented Dove soap just to clean them off a bit. I only use that when they have been in with poo for a good while.

i usually fill the bath tub just a little, and take the temp also, and umm...take a bath with him. that way if he's really hating it for some reason, he just sits on my lap instead of frantically swimming around. but yea he dunks quite a bit. i love it when they do that.

Haha! The same thing happens around here with a whole bunch of bowls/tupperware comtainers/chinese food takeout bowls.

    A typical afternoon:
Boyfriend :Jen, where's that bowl with the green lid?

    Me: Uh, I duno.

lol, my wife gets so mad at me because I have the majority of our tupperware in use for the pets...

I let the guys go for a swim in the bathtub once every couple of weeks. Good excercize for those lazy bums. Also good for the bowel movements

Mine just recently started going underwater. I scared the crap out of me at first. Now I am looking forward to seeing if he will venture to actually swim underwater.

Problem with my cat and my gecko
I use Pyrex pieplates for water dishes. It's not unusual for Dixie to soak in hers for hours on end.

Phil and Magellan don't seem nearly so interested in soaking, and so far, I haven't noticed if Nippy is yet or not.
