Ball python feeding, schedule/record keeping app? Interested?!
    Let me know

I'm just wondering what kind of interest is out there for an app that can alert you and keep track of your bp's age feeding plan, weigh recording (warning of unhealthy fluxes), breeding, age/info etc. Right now it would only be setup and developed around the keeping of ball pythons. But could in a later version expand it for other reptile/exotic species. I will most likely need an experts analysts of my logic and charting as I'm just a 3 balls deep owner, no breeding. but would eventually like to. Thought to myself for that, this app could be extremely useful in keeping for our ball pythons :snake:

This can and would be available for all platforms.

Let me know and perhaps I will begin development ASAP!

If you have an iPhone there's the "Snake Keeper" app that keeps up with feedings, weight, length, defecation, and shedding. Then there's a statistics section as well. There are also computer programs that are more advanced but I didn't really need anything like that so the app is perfect for my needs :) if you google snake tracking programs it should pull some things up. I think there is a thread in this forum about this subject. If I can find it I'll post the link here :)

I would be very interested in an app like that. It would be nice to have all that information on hand in your phone.

I would be interested as long as there's a way to back it up. I've had too much experience with phones crashing and losing everything on them that wasn't saved to a card or backed up online. :(

Oh sorry Idk why I thought you were looking for a tracking app lol I'm sorry your thinking about possibly making one. It would definitely be nice to have an even better tracking app available for everyone. :)

There is already a GREAT one, allowing you to track your animals easily using QR code http://reptilescan.dk/

I have been using several softwares in the past and this is the best one yet.

I found the snake keeper app. It's pretty cool, but could use some improvement. One thing I would like to see with all the progressions such as weight, length, shed... I would like to have a picture tab as well.

I'm glad to see the interest here!

I was unaware of Snake Keeper. The only issue I have with it is that's only available for iPhone. My best direction would be to first support android and iPhone simultaneously then the captain always goes down with his ship by finishing with Windows. The idea would be mobile is the primary input and on-the-go checking/notification. There can be a web interface but that's unfortunately not my ball game-I'll bring in a friend for that when the time comes. My ball game would be to include a desktop application as well that would sync up with a central data transfer and storage site. I have a handful of ideas Snake Keeper simply does not do, it's also very basic at best. Needs more functionality and simple and seamless integration with your life.

This will be highly possible as per my plan. Thanks for that input and I will be sure to include it. Having just replaced my phone 3 times in the past year I personally know how crucial it is to have backups available! :P

Funny I found this. These guys wanted one 4 years ago for android - the most accessible mobile platform, yet there isn't one out there? With this kind of interest, I as of yesterday have started so keep an eye out here. I will keep updates and post on my progress!

QR Coding will most likely not be included. I can see it's usefulness if you're a serious breeder and/or business, but for the moment this will be more designed around your average owners. For those making profit and have 1,000's of snakes I would support the desktop application as businesses do not run and function primarily on a mobile platform. Then it include a proprietary bar coding system and algorithm for tracking each individual snake, the phones themselves would just be yet another tool in the shed of the many required to run a business.

Yes! Need an android app. That's the system I use, so the Iphone apps currently available are useless for me. I haven't bothered to look for anything for Android though, so no idea if its even out there.

    Update
Work opened up, so I've begun! I am unfortunate to say for some of you that this will be first released on Windows Phone. This is my phone of choice and can't squeeze in development for more platforms at the same time. Once the Windows Phone version 1 is published. I will probably port it to android, then iPhone.
