Hey guys so my boa has a scratch on his belly probably about .5-.75 inches long and it is obviously bothering him and i dont know what to do!

I would to treat it, my reasearch says to use a cleaning solution/antiseptic? and maybe even put a waterproof bandaid on it?

I will have pics of the wound soon, any advice would help

Do you have any idea how he got it? Is there something in his enclosure that caused it? Do you feed live?

Why are you bleeding? I think the ointment should be fine. Just keep his tank clean and figure out what caused it. Snakes are pretty hardy animals. A good shed or two and he should be okay.

What Is in his cage that could have cut him? Pics? DO NOT STICK A BAND AID ON YOUR SNAKE. Also, neosporin is not good for their scales. Change substrate to paper towels and keep hospital clean. Clean with a diluted betaine. Perhaps a vet, as you might want antibiotics to keep it from getting infected. Keep a close eye on him.

Edit: if the blood is yours, is that a burn on him? What are temps? How are you heating? And controlled by what?

Yes do exactly what Doolittle said... Now why is your blood on the snake next to its cut?

So I got mixed reviews do I continue with putting ointment on, use something else, or just let it be. He has no burns my blood is on him cause he tagged me prior

No ointment...it's bad for their scales. Do as Doolittle said.

Just keep him on paper or paper towels. Keep it clean and make sure temp and humidity is correct. Don't want it too wet or to dry. Unless it's a crazy deep laceration you generally don't need any treatment.
