Colors in this one aren't quite right (you can tell by the blanket), but I love his eyes. Also got some stuck shed around his head and throat that I'll work on in a couple of days. Meanwhile, he's a little more jumpy than Atlas (prone to flinching) and quite a bit heftier but still very, very sweet - and freaking gorgeous as far as I'm concerned.

Name? Hercules. Because Atlas (who is a girl, but whatever).

Also, holy snake, Batman. Atlas takes her food, coils and eats in a very leisurely way. I offered this guy food expecting that he wouldn't take it. Wrong, wrong, and wrong some more. He hit that rat like a ton of bricks.

I may or may not be shopping for a rack as we speak.

And by that I mean I am. My rationalization for now is 'it'll be so much easier' - and it will be. That the smallest one I can get holds three tubs. Well.

Thanks. I really, really am delighted with this guy. He's a total sweetheart.

Kind of amused at noticing the personality difference between him and Atlas. Night and day, that.

Also makes me aware that Atlas could stand to gain a little weight :/

Yeah, I've been researching. I think I can manage the 'take a lowes set of plastic shelves, shorten the space between shelves with a saw and go' variety. Now I just need to figure out heat-tape. Which is, not gonna lie, bewildering the crap out of me right now. I'm probably overthinking it, but either way: The tanks have GOT to go.

whats confusing you about the tape? size? installation? where to buy? i have the DIY home depot rack(pretty much the same as lowes) with 4" heat tape from Reptile Basics.

What's there to figure out? Hatchling tub 3-4 inch, adult 6-12 inch. Figure out the length you need and buy it. Heck if you don't trust yourself to solder (my personal method of choice) or install the connectors, they'll do it for you!

I think it's mostly that I've never even laid eyes on the stuff, so I don't know how easy or hard it is to set the stuff up. I'm almost definitely thinking it's harder than it is - but hey, if they'll do it for me, I'm gold.
