Yeah I really like Blizzard Corns, and Luecistic Rat Snakes.
-

wait wait--you can see the mouse INSIDE the snake's belly?!? how freaking awesome is that?! if you can't get a pic this time definitely get one the next time you feed her. i'm all over seeing that!
-
well actually she is a candy cane (looks like an albino like your babie pyro) her dad was a snow and her mom was an okeetee or a normal
-

Respiratory infection?
I have a question on feeding corns. The guy at the petstore said to feed Sphinx (my albino) live pinkies. He said they cant hurt him. Shuold I try to feed dead ones or live until he gets older. Not sure if its a he but im calling it a him. lol. I want to dead F/T but he's use to live. I guess after I unthaw the mouse, ill wiggle it in his face. That should make it look like a live one. Any ideas?
-
i feed mine frozen thawed, even though pinkies and sometimes even fuzzies will not hurt your baby you still want it to get used to eatin frozen thawed (if thats what you plan to feed it) if it doesnt take the frozen thawed pinkie try a pre killed and work your way up
-
ok. Or if it doesnt take it, ill jiggle it in his face to piss him off. Then he should strike at it, lol. Im just playin, why wouldnt he take it if it was doing eveything a live one would do? Can the automaticly tell if its dead or alive?
-
wiggling will work to make it think its alive but it might be confused it you wiggle it up in the air,i feed my bp pre killed becuase there is no way she will take frozenthawed,i got her to take them by skipping two feedings so she was nice and hungry and more willing to take whatever i gave her to eat,and i also put the mouse on the floor and made it "walk" around her feeding tank, maybe try that
(sorry i didnt include that in the post above, some things skip my mind and then i have to post them again!)
-
well with a live mouse the temps are perfect and sometimes people (like me.lol) have some trouble getting it warm enough and if it isnt warm enough the snake will not want to eat it,i dont think they KNOW its dead but i think can can obviously tell its not the temp its suposed to be (unless you get it to that temp)
-
ohh and wiggling in front of his face to piss him off might work (but prolly only if the snake is really aggressive) hehe ya never know ;)
-
To tell you the truth guys, I think that having this snake as a pet is so cool. I think that I made the right choice by buying one. You people were great help to me. If it wasnt for you guys, I wouldnt own one today. Doesnt that make you feel special? lol. I enjoyed the incouragment and answers that I recieved from all of you. Well, enough about me thanking you, lol, ill try what he mentioned above.
Thanks,
Mike

I didnt know places like this even existed and then a while after i had researched alot and got my bp i joined and learned SOO MUCH .

i got a question about feeding is it easy to get it to eat because i'm going to get one?
-
yeah corns are good eaters, mine has a very good feeding response.Never refused a meal exept when she was in shed but that doesnt really count to me.
-
My new baby corn has refused meals for me three times so far. I'm hoping it's something she'll grow out of. I think she may have been used to live pinkies as opposed to frozen/thawed. Kathy Love's people (who I got her from) said she'd use either/or depending on the snake or what she had available. But I have gotten her to eat frozen thawed twice since I got her, so I'm hoping the other times she just wasn't hungry. She refused her meal the last two nights, :(, she was more interested in getting out of her enclosure than eating. Next time, I might try putting her in a small plastic container with the pinky and see if she'll eat it then. If not, I may have to try to feed her a live one, I don't know. What do you guys think?
-
gen, the live pinky shouldnt be able to do any harm to your corn snake. If you wanted to give her one of those to get her back on track, go for it. The wigglyness of the live pinky might just perk her interest. I wouldnt suggest doing it with anything bigger than a pinky though.
-
Yeah, I figured that, I just wanted to avoid it if possible so I could get her used to f/t now rather than later.
-
-
My baby is the same (you can see where the mouse is digesting in her belly). I wouldn't want to pick her up and take a picture while she's still digesting the pinky though. I wouldn't want to risk regurgitation.
-
yeah i dont want to upset her little belly while she is tryin to digest.i think i will just put her in the extra ten gallon while she is eating and take a picture from under the tank (no newspaper) so i can get one of the pinky going down without disturbing her.
