    Golden Child ball python????
What exactly is a golden child ball python? I have seen very few pictures and to me it looks just like a normal with some nice gold tones to it. Someone I know is selling one for $225. I know nothing about this type of ball python mind you. I have no intentions of buying this snake I am just curious if it is a "morph".

Can't help but wonder why you'd name a morph after that movie where Eddie Murphy protects some magical "exotic" kid who eats leaves.

Exactly! This is why I questioned this in the first place. It looks like any other pretty normal to me. I am not one to have an eye for the more subtle morphs but I just wanted to see if anyone ever heard of such an animal before. Now I feel kind of silly but I had to question it for my own curiosity.

I thought Golden Childs were just in the Retic morphology. I've never heard of a Golden Child Ball Python. :confusd:

i agree, its a retic morph. never heared about it in the context of BPs.

if you are looking at a normal BP advertised this way, its the same old story: someone is making stuff up to advertise a normal. just like the normal-looking pastel. or the infamous het spider. or, recent case: a pastel double-het hypo clown that looked like a normal.

but then, im not ruling out the possibility that its a more reputable person working with a dinker project. do you have a link you can share?

Could it potentially be a young retic being advertised as a BP? Because in some states retics are regulated/banned/require permits/etc. but anyone looking to buy a retic would know what a "Golden Child" is... and that it's not a BP.

Sounds like a reticulated python or a made up morph. Haven't seen them in the BP world yet, and definitely not for $200. :weirdface

Thank you, wolves are my favorite animal. :) And who wouldn't love a giant mythological one?

Most everyone in the snake world has heard of Golden Child Reticulated Pythons, but not a Ball Python.
My guess is it's someone giving a fancy name to a dime-a-dozen normal to try and find someone gullible enough to think it's worth the money.
I admit I'm not up on all of the current dinker projects the big guys are working on, but I find it difficult to believe they would purposefully name a ball python morph in the works after an established Retic morph. That is just asking for trouble, especially considering the regulations in place on Retic's.

perhaps it's a retic that's for sale where they aren't legal to sell.

I found the ad and the pics - easy with google - and it looks like a normal BP to me.
