    UberAlice
UberAlice- remnant from my days as a clubkid, that's what I used to be known as and people still call me that if they know me from the rave/club scene. They know my real name...they just don't use it. THe name itself originated from several things....Alice in Wonderland is my favorite book of all time, and my mom used to call me Alice because of that when I was little. It's also a play off of two song titles, "California Uber Alles" by the Dead Kennedys and "Ich Bin Uber Alles" by Hanzel Und Gretyl.

My avatar is actually from Tools Lateralus cd.

    Brandon
I got lucky. I like to use my real name, I figure that way people will know I'm being up front and honest right from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, if you're going to have a nick name, it may as well be cool and the internet is a great place for it...where else can a person decide what others call them? In the real world people get STUCK with nicknames, online people PICK them.

I was just lucky enough to register on this forum about ten minutes after it's creation. I've seen other Brandons on here but they all have something like Brandon.0 or Brandon.4 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    I WIN!

Okay, I'm kidding, just being an ass. I really don't mean anything against the other Brandons it's just that I've never won anything before...

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......HA

    Smynx
Smulkin dubbed me Smynx. He calls me "mynx" sometimes - it's my favorite pet name. We put an "s" in front of it because Smulkin and Smynx sounds better than Smulkin and Mynx. I'll let him tell you where Smulkin came from.

My avatar showed up on a google image search when I was looking for Uroboros. It's not biting its tail, but I like it anyway.

    green_man
I have always liked nature and am interested in the idea of greenman. Greenman is a pegan diety that is supposedly the link between nature and man. My avatar is a greenman image.
If you ever go to England, they have greenman carvings and statues on buildings.
Pegans helped build some of the catholic churches and added some indescrete greenman carvings on beams or in the corners. Thought that was kinda interesting. Pegan diety in a catholic church...

Funky, skulkin', smirkin' - mix it all up and add in a dash of Poor Tom's "diabolical rant" from King Lear - viola!

(was at Bogarts in Feb and visited Don Hamper in Colombus on the return trip to pick up benny and betty lol!)

    In desparate need....
Greenman, Catholics incorporated a lot of pagan symbology and ritual into their faith when they were trying to convert the pagans to Christianity. Easter and Christmas were originally pagan holidays. The Catholics decided it was in their best interest to let the pagans keep their holidays if they were going to get them to convert, so they decided to celebrate Christ's birthday at Yule and Christ's resurrection at Ostara. Did you think it was coincidence that All Saints Day is celebrated the day after Halloween, aka Samhain? The Virgin Mary is the mother goddess. There are countless other ways paganism was incorporated. The chalice used at Catholic mass is the same cup used in pagan ritual. Can you tell that I'm a Catholic/Pagan crossover? It's absolutely fascinating, really.

Greenman - there's plenty of information out there on the subject. I haven't seen that movie, but the story of King Arthur takes place at the time the conversion from pagan to Christianity was going on. If you like fiction, read The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Bradley is a pagan priestess. The book tells the classic King Arthur story, but from the perspective of the women. The really interesting thing is that Bradley's fiction is historically accurate in terms of pagan ritual and the conversion to Christianity. The Discovery channel usually has specials on around Halloween about the connections, so keep an eye out for that. There's also a ton of non-fiction available on subject.

Well, I couldn't use my real name ( somebody already had it). So, Bambi is the name of my pony mare that I bred. She is one of 3 horses of mine that I love to death. The 4th horse we own is my mothers, and she never liked me :P My avatar, I saw it in the avatar list and I absolutely love Gaboon Vipers. They're my favorite hot!

For what it's worth, Bradley's The Firebrand takes the only school-assigned book that I refused to finish reading -- The Iliad -- and turns it into a fabulous retelling of a classic story. I also find the evolution of religions (to coin a contentious phrase) fascinating, particularly the parts that are deliberately excluded from the history provided to the casual student (such as the married popes, Martin Luther's extreme anti-semitism, and the fact that before the mass genocides perpetrated by followers of Christianity most of the world observed pagan or goddess-based religions).

Oh, and my name is my name and my avatar is by demand of the masses. Except when i get a whim to change it. ;)

I'm such a bundle of creative fun, that when I joined I had to make my username match my real name. I know, I know, you're all jealous of my creativity, but tough. :P

As for my avatar, I was looking for snake pics on google, and came across a cool looking pic. So I went into photoshop and spiced it up a bit. Must've done well because I've heard a few compliments on it. :)

Hey Podo, I know the drummer of A Perfect Circle (Josh). His brother and my boyfriend are very good friends. I've actually only seen A Perfect Circle once and that's because they were opening for NIN. We go see Josh more when he's playing with The Vandals, another band he's in.

My boyfriend also went to high school with someone from Kottonmouth Kings, but I'm not sure who. I never met him.

And I met Bradley Nowell from Sublime before he died.

Actually I've met a lot of people from bands, my boyfriends played in a bunch of bands, so you just tend to meet and hang out with a lot of musicians.

As for my username, my full name is Genevieve, but nobody calls me that. Everyone calls me Genna, but on message boards I go by gen for short.
