I'm a new rider myself but I'm loving it. I picked up a new fixer upper at the end of last year (an 82 yamaha XJ750J) and can't wait until the snow is finally gone (or even just until it's warm enough to work in the garage again :D )
BTW: I started a thread last year about motorcycles and quite a few people posted pics of their rides in it. It's fun seeing what everyone has.

I used to ride an 2001 RC51, but got tired of being in pain after riding for an hour. I am currently saving up for either a Harley, Triumph, or a Victory. I did pick up a XT250 just to thump around town on back and forth from work. Its completely gutless, but its gets 80MPG and I still get to ride something until I get my cruiser.

Wish my sporty got 80mpg............... I would be happy if it got 30mpg

Ya the gas mileage makes up for the lack of power. But to be honest I guess I expected that stepping down from a 1000cc vtwin to a 250.

Had a 2001 cbr929 erion edition a couple years back it ended up getting stolen. I'll save up for another one eventually I just need to stay away from ball pythons and tattoos to be able to do that lol

What does yours get Pit? I had an 07 and always got over 40mpg. My Vision is still breaking in but I get high 30's city and low to mid 40's highway.
Still my favorite bike to date and I ride all year, daily if possible. My13 Victory Vision Tour.

Wow! Any idea why? That seems really low. My Sporty was a stock 883 but even my 10 Road King and my 07 KingPin got much more than 25. I have always gotten atleast mid 30's.
My Road King had stage 1, cam, timing done.
My KingPin had stage 1, and S&S intake.
My Vision is still stock but beats all my previous bikes. The Vic 106 is one heck of a motor and is only getting better with each mile I add.

When you start looking find a Victory dealer and ask when the factory truck is coming. The factory truck will have almost all the bikes for you to ride and they give coupons for $1000 off a bike and I think coupons for riding gear as well. Also if your police, fire, or military they give $1000 off. Just let the dealer know and they will take care of it.

nonstick 1200, gets from point a to b almost as fast as I want it to.
I had the dealer do everything they could before I would take delivery, plus it all falls under factory warranty.
First bike I didn't tune or modify.
My FXR gets between 35 and 40mpg

Re: Motorcycle's, who rides?!
Working on getting my permit and license. One friend just got his permit and step dad is giving him an old suzuki of some kind. Another friend just traded in a trike to get a Harley Dyna Bob. My dad has a Harley Davidson Heritage Classic in his garage which hasn't been touched in 5+ years I guess and has new seat in the box from before my mom divorced him 13+ years ago. I may steal that bike before I get it as inheritance. hehe.

Save the poor thing! I hope he atleast kept it running and rotated the tires. That would mean less work for you.

It probably needs inspection, new tires, and all fluids changed. I'll probably rescue it next year depending on if dad pays to have the work done. Which I suspect he'd be willing to do cause it's just sitting there. His dreams of riding again I think belong in a flushed pipe. It's a gorgeous bike too, may only have 20k-30k miles on it and it's probably 20+ years old. But in really good condition minus the seats/saddle bags.
