Oh my God those pictures are beautiful. I really struggled to decide which would be my first snake and African House Snake was on the top of my list. I fell in love with a milksnake though at a petstore so I took him home. Man I really want one of these now they are just sooo adorable. How is the personality on your guys, are they really personable? They shine like a rainbow.:D

Those are awesome.. Fantastic Feeding Response (besides males in "give me some girl" mood) I actually Seen them Eating Still hanging on Keeper Hand... They Kill by Full constriction...

If You choose vivarium, They will learn that You walking in to the room "could means Food" and they will watch You in hope that You will feed them...

All of mine was "WC" and all of them still sometimes twitch and jerk when touch but they all are handle able

"Nephthys"was Terrible on beginning... Imagine me taking Snake hook to deal with 150g colubrid but i was Afraid to take her out of the cage just with my bare hand :rofl::rofl:

She came around nicely and no Problem here anymore.... CB are Sweethearts... Beside B. Olivacesus... those Looks Like menace and most of females from That Specie have really bad temper...

Most in the marker are labeled as B. Fuliginosus or B. Capensis or B. Maculatus.... Most Likely You will get B.Capensis or True maculatus have additional row of scales in the face and I didint see one in US yet...

Most House Snakes with Pattern on Them If they are not Imported directly from Africa and You cant get confirmation about region are Called now Hobby House Snakes... Even Bug Eyed House Snake was classifieds lately as sub specie of Capensis

I see sometimes Brown Fuliginosus on market but Rarely... Black are more common most of them imported.. There is fair amount of Striped B. lineatus on Market as well... I know That Ken Fose from LA have Auroras but those are such are rarity in US trade that Hatchling Price reach 400-500$

As 1st Snake... Year House Snakes are awesome... Easy to Keep like Corns... with way more personality :gj:

They just look so amazing and considering yours are wild caught and were tamed down that is just very cool. They were definitely near the top on my list. BHB ran out a few months ago and I was disappointed but they have them in again. It just says African House Snake and no other information. For $40 I'm guessing they are captive bred in his facility. I just looked up B. Capensis and I just love those eyes. The green on the B. Olivacesus is just stunning. They do however look like they would eat you alive.

I can just imagine using that hook on a little snake. :snake: I never really handled a snake before and when I was at the petshop they were quick to plop a ball python in my hand and in my head I'm just repeating a mantra in my head over and over. "PLEASE DON'T BITE ME! OH MY GOD IT MOVED IS IT GONNA STRIKE MY FACE???!??!":O - Epic Facepalm-

Of course I had to play it cool, because well.. I'm a tough New York girl and here I was coming in to buy a snake with a nice fear attached to it even though I had been planning this out for months and months and had the setup and everything ready to go. I've been staring at the hooks everytime I go into the pet stores debating. When I do finally get my ball python I'm going to get one, just in case.

Now I got a little milksnake head poking out of some substrate and staring at me all day long and I just love him to bits. When they put him in my hand all I could think was. "Websites say they bite, websites say they bite.. omgerd... he is wrapping around my neck.. I'm gonna die." Now I wish he would wrap around my neck again.. little bugger is adorable. I still get nervous when I have to go poking around that substrate for him though.;)
