now I haven't been around for that long .. and some might say I was dumb for starting that balls on bullies thread witch I know to some wasn't the brightest of ideas .. but I do have faith in my boy and since my new puppy arrived the snakes hardly leave the snake room cause shes a pup and is unpredictable .. anyways point of topic are these posts getting dumber by the day ? ive seen some silly stuff the past couple of months and was just wondering if anyone else feels the same ..

maybe she make people take a test to sign up ... just saying

It runs in cycles. Also, when you're new to the site, everything is new to you. Once you've been around a while, you start to see the same things over and over again. And not just the stuff about Balls not eating, shedding, and pooping, but also the weird stuff like, "Why can't all my reptiles live in the same 200 gallon tank"?

Cause just when you think you've seen it all, and are sure someone is trying to troll the site, something like this comes along:

that is amazing slim .. just like today I seen one that was to much .. with the leo and corn and he had finchs to maybe a ferrit and some goldfish who knows what was goining onthere .. idk what these people are doing wheres the common sense .. smh

IMO your thread was pretty entertaining and i enjoyed it. If i still had my american bully i would have joined in the fun. Having said that im sure when you made that you expected people who had unpredictable dogs to not even try it even though some people had to chime in with COMMON SENSE lol.

To answer this i think its silly to see folks taking the time to create a thread for something that could have been solved in half the time just with Google. i know sometimes there are situations where you've exhausted the internet with no joy so sometimes you cant help but to ask that every other day question but from what ive seen lately its like COME ON! REALLY! Also before i got my corn...i read a book on corns. before i got my balls... i read 3 books on balls(pretty muck the same info in each book). Read Russo's book on Boa's... i gotta boa baby!!!! So i think its the pinnacle of silly when there's a thread like this "so yesterday i got a baby ball that was super cool and very pretty but what should i feed it and is this 50 gallon tank too small for him?" :O

Just in the same facet that us "old timers" get tired of answering the same questions, I get sick of people like ^ that.

Unfortunately, some people just can't get a handle on Google. Chiefly my wife is one of them. "I did that!" as I show her the answer she was looking for in under two seconds.

That self amputation thread was something else.

Though there's a member who'll remain nameless that has just asinine things to say, all the time. They know nothing, have no experience, privately ask the same questions so they can answer and sound smart, and get defensive when confronted.

No offense to the OP, but threads like that and people who make them are temporary. It takes just a couple minutes of dedicated concentration to not make threads like that. Sort of like making a conscious decision to NOT wear pajama pants to Walmart.

I still dont understand why you cant have a ball in a big enclosure?
hahaha maybe its just me but the way I see it is if its in the wild, would it not have the "whole world" to discover.
I can see some of your guys no's to it if its a baby and will have comfortability issues, but if its an adult why not have a huge oversized tank?
I know my baby is active at night looking around but sleeps all day. why cant i have a huge tank with multiple hides she can hide in?
Especially if in the wild they move from hide to hide not really staying in the same one too long.

No one ever said you can't keep a Ball Python in a large tank. The OP of the post I linked to was keeping her BP in a large rainforest with other reptiles species. Big difference.

I wasnt talking about that one specifically Ive seen other cases where people say you shouldnt keep ball pythons in a big enclosure.
But if we are going by that thread aside from all the other stuff shes doing wrong people did point out the size of the tank specifically and that it shouldnt be in that big of a tank. So once again im going to ask why you cant keep it in a big tank (because maybe not you but others seem to think that you cant do that) I didn't ask a question about or even address rain forest zoo girl.

I replied on your other thread. Sorry if I thought you were referring to the "Zoo" thread, I didn't see where you changed lanes. Missed the turn signal. Didn't see your arm out the window...

You can do whatever you want, however we go for the most possible chance the animal will eat with regularity and reliability. This means a smaller enclosure and proper heat and hides.

But I read everywhere about people snakes going on fasts i mean i guess whats to say they wont do it in larger enclosures but someone posted an article earlier today that suggested changing their whole enclosure or doing a complete clean cause them to eat or want to eat and this was because of where they defecate and shed. So how do you know keeping it in a smaller tank causes it to eat more reliably when they aren't really reliable with eating to start off with and how do you know they aren't more reliable in a bigger enclosure.

Because in my entire experience, my first snake was in like a 74 quart tall tub and never ate. I moved him to a 12 quart tub with proper heat, hides and humidity and he began eating.

Currently in his 24 quart tub, he is a healthy 800g now. It works, why mess with it.

Since we're being children, how do you know it won't work?

I guess the majority of the knowledge we have on these guys are from long term experiences of people who have been first hand with them from the beginning. I came on the scene 4 or 5 months ago so if i read from more then a few reputable sources to use smaller enclosures then questioning it is really a mute point. Thats just how i am i like learning from the pioneers and what they have to say a out something. Just me :D

yea see im 3 months in but im a curious person i like to know why. I trust everyone experience and listen to everyone's opinions and what they have to say. I have my snake in a 10 gal tank. I just want to know more from a community of people who know more. Im not gunning anyone knowledge and kodieh i dont know it wont work. I dont know if a bigger enclosure will ultimately help or hurt except for what yall tell me and because is never a good enough answer to me. your experience i accept. if you want please look at my other thread and read the article i posted and give your opinion there. thank you

I just seen a post of someone who lets the bp go swimming in the fish tank and then I think the same person thinks there snakes are in love ... ahhh gotta love it .. this is better then tv
