Rescued Retic

So, I went to look at a retic that a friend of a friend has been trying to give away. I saw him two years ago, and he was ~5ft and BP girth. Fast forward to today (pic is in a 12-qt tub). :( He's half the girth he was, at best. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/24/nu2anetu.jpg

This was him two years ago. It's scary how much smaller he is now. But he just ate for me, so fingers crossed!

Oh My! He's so skinny. I hope he does well for you and I hope he puts some weight on soon. :(

He weighed in at 1020 grams. Three years old! 😢

I am just gobsmacked! I have BP's his age that weigh more. Good for you for taking him.

He seems to be keeping his first meal down, so I think he's on the right track! I'll post his progress as he recovers.

Lemon head retic's are my all time favorite. They are a mainland and should be pushing 15' be his age. But as long as he's feeding I'm sure he'll recover nicely and fast. Congrats on the excellent score. I miss my old lemon head.

I know, and it makes me very happy that he got his appetite back so easily. He was also a puppy dog to handle once I unwound him, which is a bonus!

Such a pretty boy! I am glad that you have him and I hope he grows up to be strong and to be the true beauty that he is!

I'd say he's settling in well, for a vicious man eater. ;) He was even on his best behavior as an ambassador for his species to around 50 5th-graders last week (2 classes).

It's hard to believe he's tripled in size since I got him 4 short months ago! I'm going to try to get better pics when I have another set of hands to help this weekend, but he weighs in at 6 lbs and 6.5ft!

OMG!!! Good for you for saving that guy. I love the updated photos and can't believe how much he grew in just four months.

He looks a whole lot better. You have done good with him.

Just another update: Oliver was 6ft and 6lbs at the beginning of May, and now checks in at 8ft and 10+lbs! Before and after pics for comparison. :)

He has really improved. Reticlated pythons really do grow fast don't they. Wow.
