Finally warm enough to get some outdoor shots. Took the Amel male out for some time in the grass. Was going to take some pics of the bigger female too but she decided she wanted to try and bite me and get a mouth full of sani chips... :rolleyes: Maybe next time.

From what I hear about 7ft-10ft give or take a little depending on lineage and feeding schedule. This guy gets fed a medium rat every 7 to 10 days and just turned 2 years old last month. I think he is getting close to 6ft.

Retics have the coolest eyes, good looking snake!

Is their thickness proportional to their length? Will this guy be slimmer like a carpet at 7-10ft or will it thicken out like a Burm would?

Closer to a Carpet than a Burm. My female SD and female Diamond Jungle Carpet are really close to the same size.

That is awesome! I love Burms and Retics, but I know that I am in no way ready to work with such a large animal, If a 50% SD is closer to a carpet then I would assume that a pure SD is totally manageable by one person.

It always seems that retics are way more active (and have cooler eyes - lol) then burms but burms seem to be thicker/fatter/lazier then retics. There are always exceptions though. Retics have a lot better paint jobs/morphs then burms.

I would probably go with a 75% SD before a 100%. I hear most of the 100% SD's are really flighty. I know the girl I had was. She never stopped and would musk every time.

Interesting. I guess when it comes down to it I need to do more research. I really don''t know much about retics in general and I am still trying to figure out the Dwarf vs SD along with %s etc.
