    Getting Excited
I didn't think this girl would be the first to give me babies, but today she's mighty pear-shaped so I'm thinking it could happen any moment. She's not a big girl so I don't expect too many pinks, nor do I think she'll be the perfect mother...but we'll see how it goes. Check her out!

Ooooh, what a pretty mama! It doesn't look like her nipples have popped yet have they? How long has she been preggers?

    God job!!!

Doesn't look like it to me either. I Only noticed a day or two ago that she was getting plump. Tonight she looked huge. She is pretty and well tempered too-I'm not big on holding them, workin on getting over the deer of a rat bite. We had some nasty ones when I was younger and I think I'm a bit traumatized lol

Hey ratpimp, how long after I see te nips pop should I expect her to drop?

About two days. It usually happens 3 weeks into the pregnancy.

And if you're worried about the babies being mean like your trauma inducing fluffy from the past- make sure to start getting them used to your smell and touch early on. as soon as the mother leaves them in search for food you can give them a light cleaning and start this process. Hamsters will eat the their babes if you try this, rats mommies are way better at what they do.

Just be mindful of the momma, shell be kinda hormonal and might not act herself for a little bit during/after the pregnancy (ie she might try to bite you). She'll be back to her docile self soon after though.

Thank you!! I met a lady that had a bunch of breeders for me to choose from...and i ended up just getting all 25 of them, keeping only 5-6 for actual breeders and feeding the rest off. She was a definite keeper due to my g/f's soft heart lol.

Aww her little face when she's standing up looks like she's asking "Do you think I look fat?" Lol and the answer would be yes. Yes you do you cute little fat rat haha.

    I was wrong
Welp, my first litter didn't come from the little girl i posted earlier, but i'm not complaining. I see four pinks, not sure if she's got more in there, ate some, or maybe she is just done. This would be her first litter as well.

It's very exciting when they start looking like that!
Especially when you know there's less than 1 day left, you start listening for squeaks every hour! >.<

I just had 2 litters born within 24 hours of each other and I was so excited and impatient! IDK how I'm going to be able to feed them off ._.

You rat is very cute! Love the little white nose!

    Congrats on you first litter!

Today mine had one, stopped for an hour, then popped out like ten, then stalled, then more... Rodents are little troopers.

She's def a cutie. I think one of the babies will look like her. Some will be all dark and one or two all white. I haven't been able to see them much because she freaks out when I go in there...running to me for treats and dragging babies all over the place. Id rather she not do that so I look from a distance and leave them be after a minute or two. In a week or so I'll post more pics :)
