    New snakes same enclosure
So I made a thread about a craiglist deal I made on Saturday. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...heavy-i-think). I wanted to know if I can hold them sooner then their feeding time next week. The only stressful part that I think they are feeling was being put in bags. They are being kept in the same rack system with pretty much all the same things except I bought hides for 5 out of 7 of them. Zeus the biggest one I'm pretty sure since he is about 3 years old he would be fine with this. Im not sure about the others.

Keep in mind that the heat could be different, and definitely the smells are also new. You are new (to them).

I would still give it a week or at least one feeding. Better not to stress them, even though it's SO exciting getting new snakes!! That's all I can suggest :P I know I didn't wait the recommended time with my corn snake... too excited, haha!

I'm hoping you can expound on this quote. I think I know what you're trying to say, but I want to be sure I didn't read it wrong.

Can I get a little more advice? I plan on weighing them all on Friday (Also gonna help the bumblebee with retained shed). But, I brought them home on Saturday.

I guess you could, but is it imperative that you do it that day?

Saturday and Sunday people are coming over. My parents house has become the center of attention since I have so many snakes now lol

If your options are a) show people pictures of your snakes that you took Friday, or b) take out the snakes to show a bunch of people, I'd DEFINITELY go with option A.

I would assume, having moved to a new situation (regardless of type of vive - new people, new smells) is all very stressful for your snakes. Having a stranger (you, because you are a stranger to them still) take them out for a room full of people to see... if I were a snake, not my idea of a fun day!
They just don't want to get eaten :P I think that is their biggest, and maybe only, worry. Then again I'm not a snake so hwo do I know.

Pesonally it took one of my snakes months to feel comfortable out of her vive around more than one giant human. She would get so scared around two, I think she felt ganged up on.

    << Agrees with ^^

I have a neighbor who hounds me about handling anything new I get in and I almost have to shield bash him to get it into his head that he can handle new guys when they are ready to be handled. All of my animals get pics taken when they come into the home then don't get touched for at least a week(7-10 days) minus water changes. They need adjustment time to settle in so they should left unmolested.

Well I got them on Saturday. So it would be the recommended time period of not holding them. I'll wait till Friday night to weight them. I'll just spray their tubs till then.

You can try holding them whenever you want. Just see how they react. If they act stressed, put them back and give them more time. Some are perfectly fine being picked up day 1.

So far they almost all seem very relaxed. Only one of then hisses as soon as you touch him. So I'm not gonna weigh him.

It's the recommended time, but every animal is different right? Keep in mind it's very different having YOU check them out (so like weigh them, take a couple snap shots, put them back) than showcasing them to a crowd.

What do you mean by "spray their tubs"? Would just like some clarification :)

Mist it. I use paper towels so I have to mist only like once a day or so.
