Pastave or super pastel?

We have a modest collection and have a pastel female that will be up to breeding weight sometime this year. We will have the option of putting mojave or pastel males with her. Both are very desirable in my opinion so this will be a tough decision. I would like some opinions about which combo you would try first and the reasoning behind your opinion. Thx!

I would go with the Mojo for the following reasons:

1) The BP hobby isn't really lacking for Super Pastels right now.

2) The Pastave is one of the cooler two gene BP's out there.

3) Ending up with some extra MoJos is never a bad thing, in my opinion.

Completely agree with Slim unless your mojave is nothing special and you have two exceptional pastels...the upside of that being that super pastels won't throw any normals in future breeding, the downside being that the market is full of super pastels that look like nice pastels.

I would say that our pastel male is an average pastel however the female is a good looking snake. I feel like the mojave male is beautiful by comparison.

it really comes down to what u want in ur collection .. I had a issue this year I had a pastel girl ready and I wanted to put her with my butter ... he wouldn't go so I put my pastel with her witch wasn't in the plan but if I can pull a super male he would fit into plans great for next year and super female would fit in great a couple years down the road and that's the only reason I did it ..

It depends on what you want to produce and why you want to produce it. Only you can answer those questions.

If your wondering what pairing will give you offspring that will sell better or for more go with the Mojave.

I have to vote Mojo.

The more mojave the better! Maybe you can get a male pastave and pair him back to the mom next year try for a super pastel mojave best of both worlds

My vote goes towards the Pastave.

They're beautiful animals. Also, having a Pastave to breed with another powerhouse could be a great next project.

My opinion would be to breed the Mojave but like some others have said it really comes down to what you would want to see more of in your collection. Have any pics of the potential breeders? That might help us weigh in a little more.. and hey pics of snakes are always great to look at :)

I agree with you, the Mojave looks nice. Your Pastel doesn't look bad either but I am still in favor of using your Mojave. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I like the pattern of your Enchi. Good luck on your plans with him.

Personally, and this is just my opinion nothing more.
Mojo all the way. Pastaves look great and a male Pastave holdback will more quickly get to breeding size giving you a shot at super pastel mojo's sooner rather than later.
Edit: And a female Pastave to pair with your Enchi wouldn't be a bad thing either ;-).

This is my Pastave. She's getting brighter and brighter every shed.
