Military People!
Hey guys and girls, Just curious what all military people we have in here. Just a little about myself, I've been in the Marine Corps for 6 years now. I've been stationed in NC pretty much the entire time on Camp Lejeune. I've been to quite a few different countries including kenya, libya, Dubai, Bahrain, Djibouti and a few other places in the Med. Is there anyone else out there that has been to cool places or done some fun missions you can talk about??
Thanks

I was in the Army from 87'-91'. Served in the first Gulf War.
-
My husband is in the Coast Guard. I am definitely loving the military life.
-
I have 7 years in the Army. First duty station was Schofield Barracks, Hawaii while there I deployed to Iraq for 15 months 07-09. As a 92A I really didn't have a job so I ended up as a Gunner. After I PCS'd to Bamberg, Germany, and now I am at Joint Base Lewis-McChord getting ready toe medically retire. I ma not have been to as many places as everyone else but I did meet a lot of people, run into old faces, and have a ton of fun. Going to miss it.

Navy wifey here!
Husband is a GM in the Navy on an aircraft carrier. So he has been a ton of places! Sea duty is almost done and then the plan is to re enlist for some shore duty!! W have lived in Tampa, FL to Coronado, CA to Seattle, WA and back to Coronado, CA. Requesting the East Coast soon, fingers crossed....

I did 5 in the Corps. "A" school was in Pensacola, Florida; from there went to Cherry Point, then back home to Miramar. Ended up deploying on the Nimitz, we participated in OIF, OEF, then ran a few other small ops. We were the first Nuclear Carrier to Port in India, they brought their Govt officials on board it was a big publicity thing. We also hit Singapore, Hong Kong, Guam and of course Hawaii on the way home. Med Sept'd as a Sgt.

Re: Military People!
My first tour was Navy. I spent 4 years in Sicily. My second hitch was in the USMC. I spent time in Okinawa, Cherry Point Search and Rescue, and at New River. I retired from active duty in 2010, and currently work at Cherry Point for a DoD Contractor. My combat deployments include Desert Shield/Storm, and OIF, with some humanitarian deployments to East Timor and the Phillipines. :salute:

Re: Military People!
I'm not military, I'm a military spouse. My husband was in the Army for 4 years, spent a year in Iraq. He's now National Guard.

Re: Military People!
No way, I just moved from Havelock down to J-ville not to long ago. I guess I never realized that your logo said Moorehead.haha
-
I was stationed at Camp Lejeune from 2008-2013. Been to Iraq and Afghanistan, and am now living in Virginia, about 5,000 miles away from home for me (Hawaii).
The moment I saw Morehead City, I figured he was probably from Cherry Point haha.

Twenty Three years active duty Air Force, and another Four years as an Air Force Civilian. Just Cause, Desert Storm, Desert Fox, Allied Force, Restore Hope, Northern Watch, and multiple tours in Southern Watch and seven tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also did a tour in Korea at Kunsan. I loved my career, and though there were some tough days along the way, I would do it all over again with zero hesitation!

Sounds like someone is just out for free pictures! Plus even if we post photos, how do we prove it's still us?

Yeah, regular website usage is a lot different. Tapa talk is limited a bit. You can see pictures in threads. But cannot access people's profiles.

Marine Corps 08-12 stationed on Camp Pendleton Ca the whole time. Didn't get to Afghanistan though my wife did (she was a marine also) while I was on my booze cruise which ended up being more of a float on the water for 130 straight days with no comms in or out for E-6 and below.... But got stop in East Timor for a few days to help build some schools and other stuff, went to Thailand, 10 days in Djibouti Africa and on to Malaysia. Because my wife and I ended up with the same MOS we ended up hitting the fleet at the same time in the same company and they sent immediately to a different unit. Spent 2 years and the West Pac cruise there and then ended up being a driver for a colonel which was cool at first but sucked at the same time... Not a real exciting tour of duty for me but I am alive! Haha!
