i'm still debating where i want to get it done. i was thinkin on my lower back, it was my first thought and my boyfriend thinks it'd be hot. ;) lol, but im leanin more towards on the back of my shoulder. my mom has this 2 inch rule since im not 18 yet, so it cant be big. not that i'd want a big one anyways.. but yeah. i saw this awesome tattoo online last night, it was a dolphin and had a gorgeous ocean scene behind it. its either that or some little cool heart design. but like i said, i dno!! i'll show you guys a pic when i finally get it. my rents changed the date to next week. so i'll have one then. :)

I don't know about you guys, but I always wanted "wings" tattoed on my back.
You guys ever see the movie "The Crow" with the french dude, not Brandon Lee ... That chick in the movie thats a tatto artist had wings on her back ...
I want something like that, but a bit more manly.

Congratz on the tat Rex! :P

Blink, I've seen a lot of those, I really wanted a pair for a long time. Now my doves sorta function as the same, if I have a tank-top on all anyone sees are the wings.
Semper, if you're going that small, the best is a solid bold design that's very simple. Intricate tats don't work out well on a very small scale, they get too smooshed and don't look quite right.

i've decided, this is what im getting. it'll be on my lower back, not my shoulder... but more towards my hip, not the middle. it'll only be 2" tall. :)

If I do get "wings" tattoed on my back, they'll be a large scale verison.
I personally can care less if people see my tattoo or not.
My greatest worry is being in my 60s and regretting getting the tats.

well when you are 60 you wont be able to turn your head far enough that you can see any tats on your back, and you more than likely won't be wearing anything revealing enough that other people will see it either. that's my theory on it anyhow.

Um, I don't think at even our age we can turn our head far back enough to look at our own back.
I don't wear anything revealing enough right now anyways.
As I stated that "I can care less less if people see my tattoo or not"

I'm just saying, what if at the age of 60 I'll regret doing something like that?

lol.... well, i dont think im gona regret gettin 2 cherries behind my hip. i would never get anything huge, thats not me. but yeah, when im old and wrinkly, i dont think i'll be wearing revealing clothes, so it doesnt matter... no one will see a wrinkly tattoo anyways. might as well show it off while i can!

so what if you do? does that mean that you shouldn't do it now when you know that you would like it for at least a good ten-twenty years or more? as long as you aren't tattooing something across your forehead or whatever, then its probably not going to matter that much when you are 60. i say you should have fun and do the things you want to while you are young and can enjoy it. if you really do think that it will bother you later on then maybe you shouldn't do it, but i personally don't think i will regret my tattoos when i am older. and like i said, even if i do, most of them are on my back so i won't be able to see them without straining to see the reflection in a mirror anyhow.

I hear you, I thought long and hard about mine. I guess what's most important (to me at least) is whether or not the tattoo had enough meaning to me to make it worthwhile. I figure, it's on your body, it should mean at least something to you. Most of what I have is related to my family in some form, and so even when I'm 60, my gramma and my best friend and my parents have most likely passed on, they'll always be with me. Can't really regret something like that, you know?
    And Happy Birthday, Angela. :)

I think part of it's curiosity. The "Ooo, what is this like?" factor. There really is nothing like the feeling of a tattoo, I've tried to describe it to non-inked people and the best I can come up with is that it feels like a drag and a burn.

yeah its easy to get tatoos these days (well i guess it always has been) my friend got one when he was 14 (it was in japan) his mom just sighned whatever she needed to sighn and he was the coolest guy in all the 8th grade.

When I return to Japan (I used to live in Tokyo and Kanazawa as a student ambassador for the education system) I'm getting a set of tebori kittens on my upper arms. (Professional image be damned, I can only get these once in a lifetime!). Tebori is the Japanese style of hand-poked tattoos, only officially done by a half-dozen professionals in Japan who have had the skill passed down in their family. It'll cost an arm and a leg, but the work would be incredible and again, once in a lifetime thing. :)

Everyone's different I guess, to me it always felt like someone took a lit match, blew it out, then stuck it to my skin and dragged. Then again, most of my work is on my shoulderblades and the tops of my feet, so tattoo location might have something to do with it.

I have 21 tat's and got my first one 26 years ago. Do I regret getting them, or any of them? Absolutely not. The only thing I would have done differently is I would have had a professional do the one's that I did myself.

I've been saying this for soooo long to so many people.
A tattoo has to have some very important and true meaning to myself in order for me to get it.

How I wish I was a tattoo artist. I have not done all my tattoo's, but have done 9 of them. It's fairly easy to do when you use stencil's. Just need to have a steady hand. Also, by doing them to yourself you learn how to judge the depth of the needle by the amount of discomfort (I refuse to say pain) that you recieve. Oh how I wish I was an artist!

I have thought of that, but decided against it because when I did them, they had a meaning to me in a particullar part of my life and by having them touched up would kinda add someone elses feeling into the tat. Hope that made sence.........Even though I wish a profesional would have done them originally they have been a part of me for so long, I dont want to change them.

Yeah, my feet were professionally done, but they aren't the best. I considered having them re-worked by my regular artist, but being as they were my first tattoo and all, I kinda want to keep them as they are. Yes, the art could be better, but they were my first action as a legal adult so iffy work or not, I'm keepin' 'em. :D

UberAlice and Ironhead and two of my favorite people here now.

I think if I would get a tattoo in the near future it would be a 9/11 tribute.

I spent a giant majority of my life growing up in New York. Sadly, I actually saw the twin towers go down.

If not a 9/11 tribute then a tribute to New York City, for giving so many good times.
