The best thing about owning BPs is ...
Apologies if a thread like this has been done before, but I'm a noob.

What's your favorite thing about owning a ball python? For me, it's his laid-back nature, docility, curiosity, and "friendliness." Also, I love the shape of his funny little head, the way he feels in my hands, and watching him eat (which I thought I'd hate).

Just watching him wander from hide to hide, every now and again having a sip of water! Overall just being ridiculously adorable!

I've owned snakes on and off since I was a teen (mainly BPs) but even though I know how its done, I'm always fascinated how snakes move. I stare at my boys every time I see them move in the tank. LOL.. As for BP's specifically, I just think they have a special kind of cuteness.

EVERYTHING. I dont think there is anything i dont like about ball pythons (maybe just the hunger strikes). Every time i look at my BPs i get happy. Its just the perfect snake for me.

I like how easy they are to care for as well as the fact that they don't get enormous. Plus I just think they're cute. :)

Favorite thing? Watching them eat. It still amazes me how their little necks stretch, and I LOVE watching that yawn they do after eating. It is so cool how their mouth moves around back into place. Simply fascinating. And best thing about owning reptiles in general? Watching the look of shock on people's faces when they come into my house for the first time and see the huge burmese python enclosures taking up what used to be my dinning room! Then them seeing the reptiles in every room of the house.

Besides being amazing creatures that are docile, my favorite part about owning them is how therapeutic they are. Watching and handling them always clams me down and puts me in a great mood.

Their designs, patterns, and adaptations. I also love that they're kind of private like my tattoos-

Unless I tell someone I have them, they'd never know/guess that I did. :colbert:

Since I have tatts on my wrists and my forearms it's kind of a lost cause on keeping those private! LOL!

Seeing how many moods they can have. How much more grumpy he was compared to my corn snake. Amazing :)

Collecting them to make cool combos and how easy they are to care for/how little space they take up.

Watching them eat never gets old. Ease of care and the thousands of different morphs and combos will always keep it interesting.

Everything! I love having people over and seeing their eyes light up when they realize that snakes aren't monstrous creatures but fascinating amazing animals :) and they are so therapeutic for me, they help a lot with my anxiety and other issues. They are just a joy to have. Watching them do anything is so cool because they have no appendages, it amazes me that they can do so much. I love their cute little faces, they are right up there with puppy faces to me haha. And watching them grow, mature, and form a trusting bond with you is a fantastic feeling. I love my snakey babies so much. Wouldn't trade them for anything in the world :)

Feeling them exhale. Watching their eyes move. Seeing the flickering of the tongue. The feel of them slither slowly through my hands. The sooo many color/pattern choices to chose from. Best part is....watching babies heads and little noses poke out of the egg as they are pipping/hatching.

My favourite thing is their derps.
I notice my ball python is a little... spacey, compared to my corn. Not in a star-gazing kind of way. Just a general derpiness. I <3 it.
