So after thinking about it for a few months
I finally bought a tarantula. I ordered a baby mexican red rump. From what ive read they are pretty easy to take car of. Anything i should know beyond what ive read?

Ive read most of the stuff online but im sure as with most herps theres stuff those online articles leave out and stuff that you can only learn through experience

I think the only way we are going to be able to really help is if you show us what you have read. Links to articles, your cage set up, that sort of stuff.

I'm fairly new to T's, and really only know about the two species I have. So not sure what kind of cage set up you will need. I can tell you, that when it refuses food, don't offer again until it molts. And then you need to wait a week for slings, fangs to harden back up before offering food again. And I think a bit longer for adults. When mine don't act like crazy, never fed little spiders, I know a molt is coming. Seems they usually refuse 1-2 weeks prior to the molt. They are a hoot to watch, I love them. Congrats! Also, 3skulls here on the forum is the resident T expert. :)

I know its arboreal and They gave the option to add an appropriate enclosure when i made the purchase an thats what i did. Heres a link to the set up that i purchased with the T

My mistake the right enclosure was purchased i mixed it up. All the care sheets and info ive read where about general t's. So must have been looking at 1 and mixed it up i purchased the one i wanted just mixed up info i read on the site
