    Possible new addition, need info
So I contacted this lady who is rehoming her adult female due to aggression, and I took an interested because she said it was a pastel. Now the owner before this lady got her told her that this snake was a pastel, but she thinks it may be a normal/tiger mix.

Does this look like a pastel to any of you? Or a normal/tiger or whatever?

I don't want to pay 200 dollars for another normal, and that is what it looks like to me. I've already got two normals, both male and female.

The red light makes it very hard to tell, not to mention it looks like she has a lot of bad shed left on her. But from what I saw? Normal. And if she is a pastel she's a very dirty one and I personally wouldn't use her for breeding.

I definitely don't see Pastel, but I do see a pretty dehydrated snake. :/

That snake is a poorly taken care of Normal. Bad setup and lots of stuck shed. If I were you than I would pass on that one. Unless she will give it to you for free and you feel like nursing it back to health.

It's hard to tell with the lighting, but I'm 99.9% sure it's a normal and not a pastel. A poorly cared for normal at that. Poor baby.

No pastel, just a very poorly cared for wild type :(

there is A LOT of partial shed on the BP.

but the sides appear to have shed, and the lighting is difficult, but i think if its a pastel, the sides should show it. i dont see it.

So when I told her that I thought it was a normal

    This was her reply

He told me she was a rosey pastel which I have no clue what it is lol but I think she looks more normal to me. But she doesn't look like either of the photos. She is a lot darker green and black like. Anyway I talked to my Husband and he wants to stick with $200 flat since we already put in much more than that. So it would be 50 off the price I had posted since I mainly just wanna get her a comfortable home asap. I know she's a great snake just extremely stressed. You guys really sound like a great fit for her :) if you would like to you are welcome to come see her and stuff anytime just let me know. Thanks again. Ttyl -Beth

The only reason I would have to take this snake, would be to try and nurse it back to health. Blah -.-

I hate seeing snakes end up like this, with people who know nothng, but sadly I can't buy it, the price is too high for us right now and it wasn't the adult female pastel I was hoping it would be.

understandable. you dont buy a rescue for 200 bucks. its a very high price.

you should give her some tips on how to improve husbandry and how to solve the shed issue and make sure no eye caps accumulate.

but buying what looks more like a rescue at such a steep price makes no sense. in that condition, and when its about nursing her back to health, it should be really cheap or free.

if it is a pastel, its not a pastel you would want, for $200 you could get yourself a really pretty bright yellow pastel that would be worth breeding or even a nice addition to the collection if your not getting into breeding. i paid $125 for my pastel female as a baby and shes very bright vibrant yellow, reptile expos its where i got her they will have a ton of pastels and stuff like that so you can pick the prettiest one and i'm willing to bet u'll spend less then $200 unless u buy more then one! be careful reptile expos are very dangerous for the wallet lol.

i have taken in a rescue that was in much worse off shape then this one but it was for free and now shes nice and healthy, but after watching her go through what she went though and literally saving her life i don't really want to give her away .... thus shes another normal taking up room on my rack damn my love of animals XD

It's a very interestingly patterned normal, but WOW! I bet I can guess what the "aggression" issues are from. What I CAN'T figure out is where the $200 they're saying they put into her actually went.

PASS! shes has a see through hide. whats the point there? not to mention you can get pastels way cheaper then that with better attitudes or throw $200 on a really nice enchi even fire. but ultimately your choice good luck.

I think you should at least tell them there's almost no chance they're getting $200 for that snake and see if they will drop the price at least. She's gonna need some help and needs to get out of their care.

    Agreed with all of you
I agree with all of you, and I've voiced, all of your opinions to her, about the snakes husbandry and health, and stated some of the reasons the snake is aggressive. I've not gotten a reply back from her, but I do hope that snake finds a new home before it succumbs to neglect. At 3 or 4 years of age, that snake deserves better. And I know what a Pastel looks like, that is why I couldn't believe she was thinking this snake was a Pastel. I've got a Pastel Male that has normal looking patterns and is more green with faint orange on the side, and light blushing, and my Pastel female is a bright yellow, with gorgeous blushing, and reddish on her sides.

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction.
