Good lookin beardie you've got there :) Looks like a pretty sweet setup for him/her too!
-
So heres comes the critique on the setup....
Beardie's need to get with 10-12" of the UVB light to get any benefit from it. Your setup right now doesn't appear to be providing that...
-
well thats funny beacouse the uv light is only 10inch from the bottom of the viv and there is two perches for him/her to get right up near to it aswell, the pic is a little rubbish il give u that ill try get a better one of his/her setup, thanks for the know how anyways, and thanks led4urhead
-
he's a cutie. do you know how old he is?
-
hes about 9weeks old now and growing fast he was about 5inch when we got him and hes just over 11 inch now so nearly a foot and only 9 weeks old thats crazie lol, orderd a new viv for him/her already with the rate he/she is growing at. thanks for the compliments
-
Oh, ok, well you are good to go then! The picture makes the cage look like its really tall. Nice looking viv though!
-
sweet looking setup! what kind of substrate is that? It looks nice!
-
yeah thats what i was thinking too, but the viv is only 11 inch tall, and i did mesure the distance between the ground and the light beffore i set the viv up thats why i know its only 10inch from the light to the ground lol. sorry for the crazie come back at ye, ill get a better pic real soon so yall can see better

banded gecko caresheet
greenman its green beech chips, looked really great in a couple of the setups that the pet shop had there animals in so i got me some, and i aint read anywhere that it isnt safe for the beardies so i got me some
-
it looks really nice--almost like there is some kind of foliage growing all over the bottom of the tank. is it dyed that color or what's the deal?
-
im thinking that its dyed not sure if it would be that colour when cut into the size it is, but its great and i aint had any problems with it, and the guy that runs the pet store uses it for all his animales at home and work and never had had a problem, so im staying with it for now, yeah it duse look like there is grass or sumat growing all over thats why i got it at first lol. thanks
-
Substrate?
-
He's gettin big isnt he? How long have you had him?

Tricky is very cute!!
My daughter discovered them last week when we went to get feeders. Was going to get her a couple of hermit crabs, but now she wants a Beardie. I was going to see if they had any at the Daytona show, but we didn't go. She is doing her research first though otherwise I won't allow it....I'm kind of excited about it to though (so I also am reading up)!!
