Need a male/Which would be better?
I bought two fire het hypo females late last year. The have quite awhile before they'll be ready to breed though. My question is what kind of male should I look for? I like the champagne stuff when put into fire and hypo, but I also have a love for the spinner hypos too. I don't need to get a male right away. I just want to get opinions from the forum on what kind of hypo projects you like.

Personally I would go for Vanilla het hypo or Vanilla Hypo. The combo is sick to say the least.

It can be hard finding vanilla hypo/het hypos though. For some reason people seem to be afraid of working with vanilla stuff. I love my black pastel mojave vanilla male. I was planning on putting him to the two girls. I want to try and produce some hypos tough, and not just 50% poss het stuff.

so the male should be a at least a visual hypo, i agree. 66% possible hets and 50% possible hets are not very useful.

but since male hypos are quite low in price, the question is which extra genes. i like the idea of a champagne hypo, or maybe enchi hypo. its too many possible choices, i would just check every now and then what is on the market and keep an open mind about it, and just see what extra genes appeal to you, if you combine them with hypo or fire hypo.

Brian Breikss of Breaking Balls (Simpleman on the forums) is breeding a Super Vanilla Hypo x Hypo this year maybe get ahold of him. Also his Pastel Hypos are second to none hypo stuff from Brian is the best I have seen anywhere.

I'm in Kirkland WA, and I keep hearing about Brian at breaking balls. I really need to give him a call. I think adding a vanilla hypo would be awesome.

Personally you already have two gambles...... both of your girls are hets so i would get a visual male just to be positive that every egg hatched is a 100% het from those pairing.

That being said, I am a simple guy........ get a Honey Bee :gj:

Visual male is a good idea. Safe is always good.

If you really want to gamble, enchi het hypo...you can't go wrong adding enchi to anything.

If you can find one, get a full blown enchi hypo. Visual hypo and the enchi gene all in one.

Awesome! If you get a chance to get down to Tacoma and meet Brian be prepared to be there for hours talking and checking out the collection. Hes a really great guy with A+ stuff. You will want to get some of his hypo stuff when you actually see them in person. Insane! When he showed me his POG female at 2000+ grams she glows! Like on the cartoons when a character opens a treasure chest! Hahaha! Seriously I wont get hypo stuff until I can get one he produced. There are other folks out there with some really nice hypo stuff too Chris Wofford(SansCera?) and Tim Lyford have some nice hypo stuff too.

Personally, I wouldn't go for the champagne. Champagne is a super niche animal and a lot of times its pairings wind up looking pretty much, more or less, like champagnes with slightly different features. I'm waiting on a champagne myself so I can buy a female. The way I look at it, that male hopefully can be used for more pairings later down the road and champagne is kind of limiting. It's easier to move one clutch of those animals than to move 5 of them.
