Aside from my eyecap question, would a small stick of umm *cant spell it* "Meskeet" is how its pronounced...anyways would that be cool to use? it has a slight odor to it, if you know what Im talking about then you probably know the odor, its common in the desert here in AZ but would it be ok for a BP?....and also what types of wood/logs do you people use for yours?

Doesn't mesquite have thorns? From all the ones I've seen here, they have thorns and are pretty thin except near the trunk. That is one bush/tree you don't want to pick to fall in if your horse is running off with you. Nasty buggers...

it is harder to clean wood too because urates can soak into it and then when you clean it it takes a long time to dry and you have to make sure that it isn't retaining the smell of any bleach or cleaners that you use. a lot of people use it with no problems but to me the convenience of plastic and non-porous stuff is way more worthwhile. just something to think about.

Just bake 'em and then seal 'em. Look here.
