He is not chubby yet. Just wait.

They grow fast and although they don't do much they are little characters.

Beware, anything that gets close to their mouth usually ends up in it. Fingers, tongs, tweezers, everything.

Also be careful with the water bowl. My pacman is much bigger than yours but my water dish is more shallow than yours. My pacman had a hard time getting out of it so I added thin slate slabs to create a ramp for him. Their front legs are pretty much useless. They can not swim well at all.

I can't see much of your setup but it looks like your frog wont even be able to get in the bowl. You may need to bury it in the substrate to make it accessible but before you do add something to make it possible to climb out.

    Nice pick up.

He is our first and new. So suggestions welcome. I read mixed things about having a water dish. It's actually a very shallow feed dish, with just a bit of water in it. And yes, lol, I saw that anything that moves in front of their face is erm, food.

What do you think of live plants? I read we could use live pothos. So that's what's in with him. I think it also may be a bit too wet for him. Need to make a few more holes in the tub.

I think the plants are fine but can pretty much guarantee that the water bowl has sides that are to tall to climb in or out of. I would replace it with a better option. Maybe the Fluckers Jucuzzi. It is designed to be level with the substrate and has steps to get in and out. I still wouldn't fill it up and instead just put enough water for the frog to wade in.

I think your substrate looks about right. I keep mine damp.

I have been trying to post a pic but photobucket and I are not getting along.

I use a bowl kinda like this one http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo The straight sides are about 5 inches each. Its probably a small.

It has a wall that is an inch tall from the inside floor but my pacman was having a time trying to get out. His big mouth kept him from being able to step on the the ledge and climb out. Adding the pieces of slate gave him enough height and traction to climb out with ease.

I have a Flucker's Pool and I just compared it to my pacman. It would have worked when he was smaller like your but now he would pretty much fill it up so maybe its not the best option. They really do grow fast and I don't think I feed mine as much as many people so mine is probably a bit smaller than he could be.

I feed mine night crawlers from Academy(not the glow in the dark ones) that I dust. He usually gets 2 or 3, depending on their size, every few days. Then every couple of weeks he gets a pink or two.

So cute! I love his bright colors. How big will he get? I've been thinking about getting some frogs at the expo. I'm determined to come home with something from my first expo.

This bowl is maybe 1/4-1/2 inch deep. I threw some flat marble/stone things I have in the water dish. He can longer get more than a foot or leg wet, unless they slide.

If that's the ExoTerra dish I think it is, there's a ramp at one end. I'm not much of a frog guy though, so I don't know if that matters.

No, it's not the ramp dish. Those were water dishes and I thought were too deep. This is actually a very shallow feed dish.

Ahh, I see. I had one of those when Ajja was just a little noodle. They're great. ExoTerra makes some great stuff. If it ends up not working out, use it as an excuse to get a new critter!

I know the one you have and I think it will work great. I thought it was the water bowl.

Once it grows up you may want to add a deeper one. Mine will sit in his pool pretty often.
