    My first season
This is my first season I've attempted breeding. After 15 years of dealing with boas I made the move into balls a few seasons ago. After growing out my babies, my first female is rearing to go.

That's a nice pairing, especially being your first Ball pairing.

    Re: My first season
I was really hoping to have at least one of my two other females, that have the size, go. I've been pairing with my bumblebee female for two months and she had zero interest. Persistence pays off I guess. Put some sperm plugs on her back from another male and found this twenty minutes later. Here's hoping for killer queens

    Re: My first season
After thinking the bumblebee wasnt going to take, I palpated the other day and felt follicles. About 5 by my count. I had not bred her in a while so I threw in my super pastel lesser that's a little bigger now. Found a nice lock after a day or so. I would be really pumped if she took from the super instead of the pastel butter. Only time will tell I guess.

    Re: My first season
Hey guys. My hope had been dwindling as of late that she re absorbed. Came home last night to this and although there were only two good eggs and five slugs, I was ecstatic! I removed the momma and was completely expecting to get tagged. She was surprising calm. Got her off without a hitch.

    Re: My first season
No, she reabsorbed. It was her first season. I've talked with a few breeders and they all said to keep them at lower than regular Temps. I have two going for next season but I'm thinking I'm going to bed then to my pied male

hey guys. just thought i would give an update on the two eggs. the mom was the bumblebee bred by both my pastel butter and my super pastel lesser. well yesterday was day 56 and i was going crazy with anticipation. i decided not to cut them and came home to this

    http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psf0l3tb60.jpg

i had peaked in the egg yesterday and couldnt see the head. what i did see from the body was tough to id. i definitely saw lesser or butter in it. well i left them alone and then took this pic today.

    http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...pshfkluc2t.jpg

not exactly sure what i have in there, guessing something awesome though. super pastel lesser/butter im guessing
im getting nervous about the other egg because it hasnt pipped yet. at what point should i consider cutting if it doesnt pip on its own? im probably worried about nothing i know. thanks for looking guys

Thanks. First ones out. Super pastel lesser or butter. I'm leaning towards the butter.

    Re: My first season
Yes, it actually pipped this morning. I was getting nervous because the other one was out of the egg for a few days. But I'm so happy I saw a head peaking out today. It looks to be either a pastel butter or pastel lesser. So a whiff on the killer Queen I wanted but I have two bees next year for my super pastel lesser. I'll get some pics when he comes out of the egg.

ok guys the other one was out of the egg when i got home tonight so i snapped a few pics and weighed it(havent sexed them yet). there both in 6 qt until they shed out, then ill move them to their own tubs. the super pastel lesser was 68g and the second one which i think is a super pastel, was 48g
