Reminds me of a Tiger. What was the pairing?

I guess wenchi (woma x enchi) The enchi seems to tame the head pattern in the woma and limit spots. I do not see desert in those babies.

That was my first thought, too.

I would assume from the text in the photo that one gene is genetic banded.
But, it definately doesn't look like any of the few genetic bandeds I've seen yet.

Well I think the best way to figure it out would be to ask the owner of said animal. So the question I am now asking is where did you get the pics from?

Hi. Thanks all. Been busy lol. The pics are mine. This is a hatchling from a lesser to an unknown female. But the lesser is poss a 2 gene animal. It do isn't look anything like mum but doesn't look like a normal either.

The banded text in the pic is just a description not her genetics.

That is one awesome lesser. Did you breed him with anything else? If so how did those babies turn out? Mom looks average to me but that lesser, wow. totally subscribed to this thread.

It was our only pairing last season. He has been locked with our bee this season and another female so far. Hopefully this girl will go again this season too.

Mom has got a definite fire/vanilla thing going on. If she is one of these two, that goes a long way towards explaining the looks of her babies. The stripe thing may or may not be "true genetic". I can selective breed for the same stripe effect, but I don't consider it genetic.

I'd love to be able to see her in person. But just looking at the pics of her babies, I'm leaning heavily towards her being vanilla myself. She's got a head stamp, and she's got the coloring for it. And you can certainly see the influence of a highlighter gene in her babies. That being said, this look may be something you only get from these two particular snakes.

This past season, I bred my extremely average pastel male to my better than average mojave female, and produced some of the oddest looking pastels and pastaves. He's produced before for me, and the babies were nothing special. But, it appears he has something in him that when combined with my mojave, made something special. This could be what you have going on here.

Yes she has been said to be a poss vanilla but need to prove that out. But we do think that it is a result of these two snakes that's caused this. Bit from both parents not just one. So we are hoping to prove that this season by pairing him to a normal as well as the same mum. The thing that throws us is the non lesser with the stripe. If she was carrying a gene that throws stripe in lesser combos how is the non lesser morph striped.
    It's also been suggested harlequin.
But that then wouldnt explain the colouring of the lessers. We need to prove out whether the sire is in fact a lesser or a lesser combo.
It is going to be a long few seasons working with these snakes.

This reminds me of the X-treme gene stuff. That could explain the striping. The Lesser could be a Lesser X-treme gene combination. Take a look at the Butter Super X-treme gene.

You could contact Ken Macek to see what he thinks since he was the first to discover the X-treme gene.

Wow. I have no clue what's going on, but gorgeous! First look at that first baby I would have thought there was enchi in there somewhere, until I saw the parents. Make sure you post up what they throw this year!

The x treme gene is one gene we are looking at as a possibility.

It's not a banded, bandeds have solid bands, hence the name, not the breaks in the black striping you are seeing on yours, can you post pics of the parents?

    Re: Morph id
We know it's not a banded it was just a description and pictures of parents are already on the post. Having spoke to someone today we think we now know the genes. But need to prove it out.

If you don't have any success with Ken Macek, try Tim Koppenhoffer at Special K Reptiles (http://www.specialkreptiles.com/). I know he had an adult Butter X-treme Gene male for sale that he got in a collection buy. He may be able to help you or know who might. Tim has been easy to talk with in my experience.
