Little more info, such as age of snake, would be helpful. How many times did you try popping? Have you successfully popped other snakes of similar age? At first glance I'd say female.

He is coming up on 5 months old and pushing 450g I have successfully popped my male pastel who is just slightly older but this was back when he was roughly this age and when he was a hatchling I attempted to pop him about 3 Times getting this result every time

Also does anyone see anything wrong with what I'm doing? I know a picture is kinda hard to say but mainly I'm curious to see if anyone notices anything seriously wrong I should be aware of

Finger position looks okay. Without a video recording it would be difficult to tell if you are doing it properly, but based on your previous successes I'd say you are fine. Sticking with female. From what I see of her pattern she is pretty!

Well considering she was sold to me as a male for about 60$ either I got extremely lucky or I'm doing something wrong

I would say you need to find someone to show you.
I double pop all of my sales in front of my customers before they take delivery so there is no question.
None of your positioning looks correct to me and that leave a lot open to doubt.
Do not probe your snakes unless you can get someone that knows what they are doing, you can severely damage an animal by pushing too hard.

Exactly my thoughts, the position doesn't look quite right to me either. If female, the glands aren't popped out enough for me to even call it female. There could still be hemipenes in there. I pop a little differently on some snakes, I almost message the hemipenes/glands out if I can't pop them right out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecBx-T_hrNE

There is a section here on the forum that you can easily find people in your area http://ball-pythons.net/forums/forum...hp?155-West-US They may not be breeders, but they might know someone who can show you. I live in nowhereville, IA and there are 4 people besides myself in a 40 mile radius that I would trust to teach people. There has to be someone around you.

Good news through many many YouTube tutorials and careful practice I figured out the flaw with my pop I was not applying enough pressure close enough to the vent to create the stopm that Everts the hemipines he's a boy a dainty one which is probably the main reason I was having issues sexing him . I will get a pic later on when my wife is home
