Got the little guy about 5 months ago. He has already put a little size on since. Hes in shed now so ill get a updated pic once he sheds. And I have found 3 of his shed fangs which I thinks pretty cool.[IMG]http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...107_202157.jpghttp://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...812_180620.jpghttp://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...904_122620.jpg

Nice western. Lots of pink. Should be a very attractive adult. Bitis are one of my favorite species to work with. Congrats on the awesome new pick up.

Thanks. He does have a nice pink in him. I have always loved the color and patterns on the Gaboons.

Yep me to. Just make sure you watch the humidity levels during the shed cycles. Bitis are very sensitive and a badly stuck shed can be a death sentence to them. Not to mention the keeper.

If I ever made the move into hots one of these would be a must. I love the patterns. Very nice.

What's his disposition like? Pretty easy to work with?

Nice. I haven't had one shed fang of my Gaboons as of yet, and I've had them over two years .

    Your first venomous snake?

If you haven't kept Gaboons before, do not overfeed. Once every two weeks is perfectly adequate for an animal of this size. Otherwise you'll end up with a fat gaboon, and an animal that dies prematurely. :)

I found it cleaning out the poop in the cage. Ive had a few copperheads before. One of my buddies got me into and teaching me about hots.

    Amazing animal.

I have kept a wild caught adult once and he was the animal I "respected*" most in my collection.

Be careful, never reach in the cage without taking the animal out. Their sluggishness make people complacent, then one day, you die.

*Respected means scared s***less in this context.
