Thinking about picking up this girl...any thoughts? I did not take these pics, they are from the seller.

As a pet or for breeding?
i would say as a pet its awesome, looks nice.
i would say for breeding, in the year 2013, for a female, single-gene pastel is a bit cheap. i mean, its still fine with a powerhouse male, it can produce nice stuff when the male is really nice, and its still better than using a normal for breeding.
it will brown out a lot, that line between bright yellow and dirty yellow is quite distant from the spine, quite low on the BPs body.
yes, having a single-gene female for breeding is better than using a normal. but what, apart from a normal, could be cheaper than a single-gene pastel that isnt even top of the line highest quality? dont be so 2006.
that aside, it looks healthy and well proportioned, no shed issues, it could be a bit more plump but its definitively not underfed, very nice pet. in the realm of pet quality, this is very good quality. it will brown out a lot, the horizontal line of seperation between bright yellow and dirty yellow is rather low on the body, in a top quality pastel it would be closer to the spine. anything above that line will go brown.
for a pet: very very nice. for breeding: not really.

That blushing makes me want to see the super pastels she makes.

I love the blushing on her, I have a very dull pastel in colouring but she has nice blushing and to be honest I wouldn't change that moody girl for the world. If the price is right I don't see why not :)
I think a lot depends on your personal preference. Do you like her? If so go for it :)

Re: Pastel pos pickup
She is a '12 and weighs 538 as of last night...her father is a granite pastel. Asking price is $125. I really like her. I am going to look at her today so I will take more pics tonight.

Re: Pastel pos pickup
Well I drove 4 hrs last night to pick her up and upon arriving, the seller forget to mention that she has a jaw deformity...looked liked an incubation issue and that would also explain her awesome granite pattern and extreme blushing....I'm bummed that she didn't tell me this when 1st inquiring about her.
I hope she finds a good home, but the seller should have been up front with me right away.
I'm sad and frustrated.

Wow what a bummer! Is this from Craigslist? I always try to ask health issues first! I would be mad at the seller. Wasted gas and time

damn, hiding such a fact and expecting to get away with it is really not nice.
so it was a pointless 4 hour drive? :( really not nice :(

Re: Pastel pos pickup
No it was through facebook local classifieds. The seller told me "she is very healthy and doesn't have any issues except that she prefers mice over rats".
I'm mad because I spent $40 in gas to travel that far and she knew I was coming from far away. The pastel is listed as a genetic granite but I'm pretty certain it's just an incubation issue. Anyone in Colorado should be warned that she isn't a granite and also has deformities but is still being listed at market price.

That is such a shame! There is no need for deception in selling; sounds like someone just wanted cash by false advertising and failing to admit to health issues!
I hope you find the perfect pastel if you're still on the look out :)
