    Ball Python Poo Question?
I've been watching my brothers 2 Ball Pythons and have grown accistomed to the smell of the snakes poo. I have changed Ecelon's Aspen Snake bedding on last night cleaned the tank out washed and dried everything even threw out old Aspen. I know routine cleaning is a must in keeping a Ball Python Happy. He's happy he travels back forth from the hot hide to the cold hide. The only issue i have is i smell the scent of BP POO in the tank but dont see any in the hot side hide or the open spaces of the tank or on the substrate anywhere. Unless it's in the cold side hide but thats where he is. I'll check it when skates back on the hot side. Just looking for tips,.

Im going to check the hides, the hot side hide is the Temple Ruin Head, in which i can see through. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this, where you smell the poo nothing there mayb he passed gas or something. I been researching and some have stated when you smell it check the hide that the snake is not in because it's prolly there. But when i find it who wants it.

Speaking of coffee! What a good idea...

A good way to find if a BP needs cleaning/has pooed is this ingenious method! It's top secret though so please don't go telling everyone.

Honestly, I hate the smell of aspen, I thought my snake smelled bad but it was just the smell of humidity and aspen. Could that be the smell?

That is true! I put aspen in a tub yesterday as I'd ran out of paper towels. It got dumped today, that stuff whiffs!

Aside from all the joking going on in the thread, perhaps the smell is coming from the snake itself? Snakes can be smelly too. And if you don't like the smell, they need baths on the rare occasion too.
