LOL, there is a guy locally who advertises 'pet photos with Santa' every year but at the bottom of his ads in big block letters he has 'NO SNAKES' I always thought that was kind of funny.

When I took my kitties in, I asked if he was okay with snakes and waited until he was the Santa again to bring her in!

Y'all should've heard everyone when I pulled her out of the large Rubbermaid.

    "That's a big snake!"

    "omg!"

    "eww"

When I was getting her done, a lady told my grandma wow you can sure tell that she holds and looks after her snakes! :)

Several years ago when I worked at Cutters Mill in NJ, i brought Brisingr in to have his pic taken. I brought him in a few minutes before the store opened for the pet pics with Santa. Brisingr was a wee few month old baby at the time, and Santa was more concerned with Brisingr peeing or pooping on his suit lol. It was just a polaroid they gave you, but i still have them :D

    So cute!
He kind of looks terrified in the first photo, but then seems more comfortable in the folloing photos.

    Awesome idea.

Did you get the name of your snake from the Eragon books? If I remember correctly the magic word for fire was Brisingr right? Haha if you named a fire ball python Brisingr you my friend are a cleaver fellow! Lol :)

Good thing it's that time of year when GUs are usually chilling on empty. Could all too easily imagine Tsuk unloading some stinky, recycled eggs on Santa's lap. :D

At a Halloween party, the guy who always wears a pirate outfit wanted to hold Vera 'to get over his fear of snakes'.

Judging by his eyes, I'm not sure he was entirely successful.

Tsuk did his duty before, I was expecting Pumpkin head to go since he had not and was also in shed. He was soaked off an on that day trying to get him to poop but he held on to it luckily up until right after that pic. One of my coworkers was holding him and he draped his tail over her arm and let loose, it just missed her too. It was a lot and smelly since his last meal was a guinea pig, Santas day would have been done and they would of had to reschedule if he went any sooner.

I have an insulated 'backpack' that I put a tube sock full of heated popcorn into the outside pocket for warmth going to and from the car, if it's not very warm outside.

The car has an inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter.
I have a heat pad that stays at 90 degrees on "low" that plugs into that.

I keep that in there all the time for reptile expos which seem to always be 2-3 hours from here, just in case I buy somebody.

    How near is what?

    The party?

It was about 12 miles/20 minutes away, give or take.

You wouldnt believe me if i told you what i use to keep my babies warm for traveling;):p
Also, i made a special "snake carrier" out of a tackle box that i use for traveling with snakes. It has tons of "flair" all over it, mostly consisting of stickers ive picked up at shows ;)

I don't mean to go off topic too much here, but just wondering... when I traveled with my snakes to bring them home, I just put them in a container with air holes, half-filled with aspen, and a toilet paper tube in it (they obviously were small enough to acually fit in the tube!), and sat them on my lap for the hour-long car rides, out of any sunshine.
If the air in the car is comfortable to sit in without a long sleeve, is that appropriate for short travels?

I feel as though because I had them sitting on my legs (I was not driving) there would be more than enough heat for them. Yes, or no? :)
    Thanks! And my apologies OP.

    Pix or it didn't happen!

    :D

I have a 10 gallon locking tub that I keep in the car, too.
Placed over the heating pad that's plugged into the lighter socket, it works wonderfully for long trips.

Snakes are much easier to transport than my dogs.

There's no harness/seat belt contraptions to buckle on and off and they never "Jackson Pollack" my windows.

    :P

It's probably fine but some of us are obsessive worriers/crazy people.

Lol...truth be told yes, yes, and yes! However, hes not a fire. Hes an albino....not a big fan of single gene fires. I even cut the title out from the dustcover on the book, to tape on the front of his cage :p
