Umm....the depends on the "method of aquisition" lol....if you're talking about an actual purchase, id say 1999.....when I purchased my first ball python. My first herps were when i was in about 4th-5th grade, i had a large female garter snake and several turtles and toads. The turtles and toads i only had over the summers, but the garter i had for about 4 years. After the garter, i was told by my mother that the only way id be able to have another snake would be if i moved out. :p

I think I was 7 or 8 when I discovered the great outdoors and started bringing home frogs and turtles and snakes that I caught on my forays into the wild.

I got my first 'store bought' snake in 77 or 78.

37 for me, 7 for my son. We are in this together!

I got mine when I was 15. I'm 16 now lol. I'm still pretty new to everything but I'm learning

30!.. When I finally managed to get away from the ex-husband and moved out of my parents after having to live there after the divorce...

It was a trio of cornsnakes I found on craigslist. They still live quite happily with me. From great bloodlines, and the man who cared for them loved them to death, took great care of them, but sadly couldn't take them with when he had to move. I keep in contact with him from time to time to let him know how they're doing. :)

I don't remember exactly...I think I was 6-8 so around 1997-1999. I'd have to ask my parents.
It was a Northern alligator lizard that I wild caught and had her for about a year before I caught another, kept them for about 5 years

First store bought herp I was in third grade, it was a snow corn, before that we were catching king and gopher snakes in our back yard all the time.

All manner of snakes frogs and salamanders since I was about 6 or 7. First store bought I was 21 and it was a pastel bearded dragon

23 lol, started last year before my birthday, got a ball python from the pet store. Still have her, and she's grown a lot since then!!!

I'd have to say somewhere around 8 or 9 years old for me. Had two Jackson Chameleons that I loved to death. They were definitely what piqued my interest in reptiles. But eventually I developed a love for snakes even though I never saw one with my own eyes until much later on (They are illegal in Hawaii). Now that I'm not in Hawaii anymore, I've had my current normal BP since August.

I was three years old when I caught my first snake: Sammy the Garter Snake. Had him for seven years. :)

King snake, daughter was 7, I was 43.

I was 12 and it was a Ball python :D

Got my normal Ball, Faye, about two years ago and somehow ended up with three more. I was 24 at the time. One of the best decision I've ever made.

I walked in my local retile store with my girlfriend and told the owner that I needed a commitment in my life and ended up getting my first Ball. ;) My gf still gives me crap for what i said. Lol.

I got a snake in 2002 when I was around seven years old. She was just some kind of Albino Corn, nothing fancy, but she only lived about a year because she ate her own tail during the night and died by morning. <:/
Around the same time, my dad randomly brought home my first BP! That one worked out a lot better and I've still got that girl to this very day.

First wild caught was probably when I was 3 or 4, eastern painted turtle. First that I actually bought was an albino burmese when I was 20 or so. 39 now, and still getting more. And occasionally catching one for a photo.
