My first hognose

Lucky! I wish I could get a hog nose. But, I have to wait till the next expo in Jan. lol It looks really nice.

Illegal in Alberta, I think because they're a native species here. Alberta's kinda weird... We aren't allowed live rats either! :rolleyes:

My first hognose happened to be my second snake which i had to sweet talk my wife into letting me have, snakes freak her out for some reason. funny story, she wanted to hold him cause she thought he was cute and within 10 seconds of her holding him he got nervous and went into full out bluff mode with flattened neck and mock strikes. she panicked and tossed him onto my desk and ran into the living room crying... i died laughing and then soon realized maybe not the best way for her to warm up to the whole snake thing lol. but over all really funny little guy and i just picked him up and he was back to normal.

from what i read these guys are banned due to over harvesting wild hogs for the pet trade and they're declining numbers from being killed because they resemble a rattlesnake.

and i have pictures of my albino hog even one right before he scared the crap out of my wife but dont know how to upload them
